I am an experienced Barista both in China and Australia. I worked for this shop for 4 hours on 1st of May (+1hour for free on 19th of April), despite her moral harassment, rude attitude, and unhygienic way of working, she refused to pay me. 1/I had one hour trial shift on 19th of April, that was unpaid. Then she wrote me a work time for my first shift, it was on the 28th of April. 2/I went to the shop on that day, but i was told that i didn't have job that day, the owner, Homa, said she forgot and she said i could stay 1 hour(for free) again. Considering I already worked for her for 1 hour for free. I refused and went home. 3/I did my first shift on 1st of May. Firstly, she didn't sign me a contract, even i already emailed her all my information. Secondly, there were only me, Homa, another lady work in the kitchen on my 1st day, and that day was public holiday. Thirdly, there was not enough training. And she said to me so many times"You said you worked in the cafe.....""I am getting angry"...I felt so horrible and uncomfortable!!! 4/After peak hour, at 15:00pm, she said "she is really angry and let me go home". I asked her when and how i will get my pay. She said she will message me but there was no message. I asked her the second day still no reply. I decided to ask fair work organizations. 5/I went to my University to talk with my teachers, called fair work organizations, went to International House to ask for help, went to police station. I was so disappointed, stressful, and frustrated. Until now, I still have not got my pay.
I really need everyone's attention, and help me a little bit to share my experience with friends around you. Just prevent more students will be...
Read moreAppalling experience. Once entered in the shop with my girlfriend, I was immediately met with a stare full of disgust from one of the employees. Have no idea why. Then we asked the cashier for a list of lactose free treats, even if we already had in mind to buy a couple of merengues advertised as lactose free (see photo). The cashier then asked a young woman that was standing there and I'm guessing was the owner if they had anything of the kind. She looked at us and immediately answered, with an extremely annoyed tone, "No. No, we don't have". Then my girlfriend, quite surprised by both the answer and the tone, asked "Not even the merengues?", pointing at the merengues labeled as lactose free, and the woman answered again, very rudely, "No.". We went out of the shop quite shocked and checked again the label, and then noticed not only that we had red correctly, but also that wasps were having a party on the treats that were being served to customers (see other photo), and that two girls noticed and were making comments, quite grossed out. I have no idea why the owner (a young black woman, not 100% sure if she was the owner or the cook) was so incredibly rude, I even thought it could be because I was wearing a scarf with the Norwegian flag, but later noticed the flag wasn't visible the way that I was wearing it, so it must be one of two things: she hates her customers or she doesn't like foreign tourists. I hope it is the first.
Would not recommend to anyone, especially tourists or lactose...
Read morePrices were expected considering the location. The quality was good, but not any better than any other café – which was also expected, to be honest, no news here: trendy neighbourhood, lagom food and high prices. But the experience is worth it, it was cool to eat a unusually big kanelbulle. The restaurant is very cute inside and the presentation of the foods is very inviting, it was a nice view :) but the seats are very uncomfortable! Makes you wanna leave soon, it’s not really possible to relax. Something to think about!
But what really made me give 3 stars (almost two) was the service. The two women who attended us were very cold, looked at each other in a “mocking way”, smirking, when we took “long” to decide what to eat, barely looked at us in the face. As a waitress myself, it was very weird and rude behaviour. Really, really unprofessional. I don’t know if one of the two is the boss (or if both are), but they don’t deserve that job. That cafe is way too cute and inviting to be stepped down by these two bitter ladies.
Anyway… I thought I needed to write this here, cause feedbacks are important for our growth. And I say all of this with all due respect.
I’m a positive person and still managed to see it as a positive experience :) but I can’t help myself but to mention the service, which was the worst I’ve ever gotten in Sweden. Ever. And I’ve lived here...
