For the price, this place is pretty hard to beat. $45 for a four course lunch tasting, with $20 for the non-alcoholic drink pairing. The food was splendid, seriously Michelin-star worthy cooking. The non-alcoholic drink pairing was not super magical, but they were good drinks, especially the verjus which is a personal favorite. The service was extremely professional, but not super attentive aside from when I was being served. All in all there was a good focus on the food itself, with relatively innovative combinations of techniques and studies of different ingredients and flavors layered into each other. Green oils tended to back a few of the dishes which was a nice backdrop of color and texture.
The canapés at the start were quite good, the cracker had a very fluffy light crunch that quickly dissolved in the mouth. The asparagus foam with lumpfish roe also was an explosion of light, slightly acidic, and rich umami flavors. Could have been a bit more clever with the earthiness and acidity though to really get the mouth watering.
The hamachi was an amazing concept. The tomato vinaigrette with the light clear broth and chive oil really acted as a great earthy backdrop to the umami of the hamachi. There were bright punches of acidity throughout, and the salad on top helped bring out a very delicious vegetal note.
The beets were also quite good, combined with a black currant sauce and marinated and was really interesting on the colors. Most interesting thing was the duck liver, which was shaved and melted as soon as you touch it into a brilliantly savory and slightly funky paste. Really delicious concept here, and the pine nuts gave a great backdrop and complimented the earthiness of the beets very nicely.
The turbot was super savory and delicious — the use of mushrooms pickled, sautéed, shaved, etc gave it a really holistic meaty flavor, and a great bursty, juicy texture to compliment the fish. The fried fava beans were also nice and crunchy, not too hard and dense, and surprisingly dispersed quite well instead of getting stuck in the mouth.
Dessert was also quite delicious, the yogurt foam had a tinge of salt and funkiness that really helped back the nice, cool, sweet and fruity blueberries. The almond Mazarin was also good, less complex but had a nice herbal note to it. Eaten with the blueberry sorbet it was amazing.
Service was fairly professional but a bit cold and stiff, and not the most attentive, and course timings were a bit inconsistent with the first part of the meal being great and dessert taking 30 minutes. Did not set utensils except at the very end, and water refills were not super...
Read moreWe came here to celebrate my birthday, just my wife and I. We received a warm welcome, and the waiter took the time to explain the menu to us in detail, providing interesting background information. Despite the place reopening to customers after the pandemic in 2021, they seemed incredibly experienced.
I opted for the Menu Grande, while my wife chose the Vegetarian Small Menu. Both of us decided to have beverage pairings with our meals. We were delighted to see the chefs preparing our food within view of our table, adding an exciting element to our dining experience.
The snacks were light yet bursting with flavor in every bite. The seafood was cooked to perfection, although the torsk was a tad acidic for my liking. However, the langoustine and mussels with asparagus were exceptional. My personal favorites were the duck dish from Skåne and the rygbiff. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy texture of the plates, especially with the addition of pistachios in the duck dish.
For dessert, we were treated to a refreshing dish with just the right balance of sweetness and Swedish flair, perfectly described as 'lagom.'
Regarding the beverage pairing, most of the glasses were excellent choices, though one red wine from Sicily didn't quite hit the mark.
Overall, the experience was exceptional. After two years in Sweden, this was undoubtedly one of the best dining experiences we've had. A heartfelt thanks to all the staff who hosted us that night—we're already looking forward to...
Read moreAfter eyeing this place for a while I finally got to go and was very impressed with the overall experience. Excellent and delicious food with a beautiful presentation for every dish and very good wine pairings. Service was also amazing with waiters and chefs presenting all the dishes as well as explaining the wine pairing and answering any questions we might’ve had. They truly went out of their way to make sure our dinner was something extra special.
Massive thank you for the exceptional handling of my gluten intolerance where they could adapt every dish and more or less every component of the dish to work as a gluten free option meaning I could enjoy basically the same dish as everyone else. Their gluten free bread was also delicious which is a very rare sight for me as it’s usually rather awful.
I wish you all the best on the journey to your Michelin star and will make sure to stop...
