We were a company of 20 pax, heard good things from this restaurant and decided to celebrate our friend's birthday and farewell party here.
They asked us to pre-order the food and had to confirm the order from the day before, understandable since we are quite many people. Everything was smooth and fine until last night we arrived, the table was booked at 9pm and we had to wait 2 HOURS for our food that we already PRE ORDERED the day before. After 2 hours of waiting, 15/20 pax did not have main courses, one of us did not have any food on at all and some of us had already finished theirs while waiting for others.
More interestingly, after all the food was out (after we tried to communicate with the manager 2 times), one of the waitress asked us if the food was okay, we said it was okay but abit cold and her reply was (and i quote): oh but is it really? (??!?!?!) The food was okay, the drink was medicre, nothing was excellent except for their nerves to demand us for preorder confirmation before 3pm the day before and yet, our time apprarenly was not as valueable as theirs.
We asked many times before hand while waiting for our food if it is possible for us to order churros after main course, because it was getting late and they confirm that there would be no progblems, at the end when we finished the food they said the kitchen had been closed and we can not have churros
To wrap up, the restaurant decided to gave us free deserts and our friend that did not have any food at all after 2 hours'sdinner was free.
This is the worse experience that i've ever had. Not only the restaurant was popular with their food, their service but also the night was special to us, we made effort to say goodbye to our dear friend and celebrate another, turned out everyone was tired, upset and hardly enjoy the food. We had to cancel our plans after that because as we finished the food it was midnight.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and of course, rather go to other places where they know the value of...
Read moreWhat a night. We came in from the streat without reservation and met the friendly staff. The menu is with options for even the picky costumer. A nice mix of meat, seafood and vegetables without the the menu going balistic. We had gambas, albondigas, pimientos, a tomato salad with manchego and langostinos. Everything accompanied by a glass of redwine. We looked for something fresh and our waiter suggested two and we could to try both before setteling. We had a nice chat and that set the course of the evening. After our tapas we ordered a glass of px sherry and again our waiter went all out and found some stuff for us to try. When a night at a restaurant turns into a passionat presentation of what the kitchen has to offer, we are in. We highly recommend everyone...
Read moreIf you read the reviews for this place one of the words describing it repeats quite often: "authentic". "Spanska köket" is indeed a very authentic place. Cosy atmosphere, helpful staff (although at moments a bit slow maybe), super tasty food. We were lucky enough to get a table without any reservation up front - but if you're planning to go there around 18:00 (or later) - and especially on a weekend - make sure to call and reserve. I absolutely recommend this place!
*The star deduction is due to the fact that we waited quite long for the main courses (in comparison to getting the tapas served). Also because the beer selection on that particular evening was very limited - and it was not possible to order the "5 (or 6?) types of draft beer...
