Skanshof — Restaurant in Göteborgs Stad

In my opinion, food is the most important thing in a restaurant. That's why I go out to eat. The food at Skanshof is top class, the service, OK. To burst the bubble of the group of 4's negativities on the head waiter, I thought he was good. The head waiter of premium restaurants is rarely a personal assistants, he is straightforward. First time here for a brunch. Ordered the Croque madame which is butter-fried brioche with brick-smoked ham, Swiss cheese, fried egg, Mornay sauce, and french fries. This was tasty and nicely decorated. A tad bit small for me since I'm a big eater but will probably be enough for the average person. The french fries were perfect! 175 SEK is expensive but it seems this place is considered fine dining.

What I would really recommend is their Rhubarb pie (125 SEK), consisting of baked rhubarb, strawberry, oat crust, vanilla ice cream, salted caramel sauce. Very tasty and great tasting coffee with it.

Visited on Sunday for brunch so it was not crowded. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. There were only two options for brunch, both of which were eggs Benedict ( salmon or ham). I chose the scallops and shrimp pasta given the limited brunch options. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce was herby with an unpleasant sourness in the background. I could see the eggs bendic served to the table next to me.
