(This happened pre-COVID.) We had a reservation at their opening time and walked in three minutes late. A staff member told us to wait outside because they weren't finished setting up the tables. Odd. You're late to open because every single table needs cutlery before a party is seated?
We wait outside and they don't signal for us to come in. Instead, we watch a two small parties go in and they don't come out, so we follow them inside. For the second time, we state that we have a reservation and the hostess walks away without a word. A waitress comes and asks what we want, now for the third time, we have a reservation! She seats us, and throws down the menus. Really bad start so far.
A different waitress takes our order, and that went without a snag. Now a new waiter brings the food and aggressively slams the soups on the table. At least the food was okay?
We go up to pay, and the same hostess that ignored us in the beginning seemed to be in such a foul mood. She acted like we were bothering her because we wanted to pay. At that point, we really should have walked out without paying, and I regret not doing so. She literally said one word to us, "Receipt?", didn't wait a microsecond for a response, left it on the counter, and walked away. Baffling experience. I guess bad attitude...
Read moreIf you are a seafood lover with knowledge of great lobster in Canada, Maine and Central America- you will love it!! I might write a poem about this experience. We were told by numerous locals to go here. I'm very picky when I eat and I know that. After yet another person mentioned it we tried to book. There was no space on the website but decided to go anyway. Thankfully, we got in.
Right away I saw there were wine pairings and I'd read the reviews and was fairly certain I would want the herring because Im in Sweden so of course I wanted herring. I also saw the wee lobsters on the menu that caught my eye. Reviews said the soup was tremendous so I decided to have it. Absolutely incredible all round. The wine, the appetizers, the dinner was all absolutely highest quality. We've eaten at a lot of beautiful places and if a city is known for its fish, I'm partaking.
This was hands down the best meal I have ever had in my life. Everything was so good. We were a quick dinner group so we didnt hang around for full service and wind beyond eating and heading out. It...

The restaurant has seating places in the street, some inside and many more in the back, which is, by far, the best place to seat.
All the lunch plates, served until 14:00, includes a salad buffet with a delicious beetroot, bread, stillwater, and for dessert, coffee/tea and pastries.
We booked in advance via Google (which used easyTableBooking) which did not show many options, but you can book on their website or call them directly.
The food we ordered was delicious: the seafood soup, which had quite a lot of fish pieces inside, the cod, and the small seafood platter which was varied and had more than enough food for one person.
Service was welcoming and great answering all our questions.
I had seen very good recommendations about this restaurant online and it certainly did not disappoint.
After a very long walk in beautiful Gotenburg's botanic garden this restaurant was an oasis where we could fill up our energy bars to later continue...
