Very good even for my Italian standards. I had pizza at La Cucina this evening and the pizza was absolutely delicious! The dough is really in Neapolitan style (I know this cause I'm Italian and I sometimes have pizza 2-3 times a week, that's how much I love eating it). The only thing that's definitely not italian is the price, which I don't think is too far off the Swedish standards though... A margherita is about 100 SEK ≈ 10€ (as opposed to around 4-5€ ≈ 40-50 SEK that you'd get in Italy), but considering we are pretty far away from the homeland of pizza, I'd say it's well worth it. They even have n'duja! The beer selection is also pretty vast, with many italian brands too (Ichnusa, Peroni, Moretti, etc...) but they're also very expensive (around 8€ for a 33cl bottle lf Ichnusa). There's also some choices of pasta and other restaurant related things, but I haven't tried those (yet). The place is pretty nice, with a nice outside location that is covered from rain and is warmed up with heat lamps. I was very pleased to find a pizza so good in Sweden, by far the best pizza I have had anywhere in Europe (outside...
Read moreIf you are on the lookout for pure Italian pizza this is the place to come. As they use a traditional wood fired brick oven for the pizzas and not your average hot air oven. The pizzas are on the same level as the Via Napoli restaurant in malmö and as so one of the two best Italian pizzas that you can get in the region. As for the other foods like the pastas. They taste good but I would not order them for that price and amount. I would stick with the pizzas. As for the seating even on weekday evenings you should reserve a table or you will wait some time. Same with the weekends. For the winter time the seating is limited to the inside of the restaurant witch halfs the amount of...
Read moreBy now, I've learnt that finding a good Italian pizzeria in Sweden is not the easiest of tasks. Even tiny villages have one or two establishments that style themselves as pizzerias while the only Italian element they feature is perhaps the well-known tricolour in their signs. All the more reason to rejoice, then, for finding out about "La Cucina" in Lund, being able to get a table on a Friday night (not easy) and enjoying the best pizza for months. The place is not huge, but that adds to the cosiness. The staff is attentive and, more importantly, very fast. The owner is everywhere and always on top of things. All in all, a great experience of just how a well-run restaurant...
