El Sotano — Restaurant in Malmö kommun

A tucked away little gem of a pizzeria. A colleague tipped me to this one.

It's maybe a bit small and it has basement vibes. But the pizzas are light and delicious, and the service is super friendly. I went first with a group of 9 and then the next night again with just my partner. Despite the group showing up without a reservation, they made room for us and served the table flawlessly.

The cauliflower pizza is tasty and unique, I had the burrata pizza and salame pizza. Both are with excellent ingredients and very tasty.

Visited Malmö as a small group, on Saturday the 13th of May.

After a day of museums and parks we had a fun and laid back evening at El Sotano 😄

We shared a tasty Margherita, and had more than a few very tasty cocktails.

But the service was what stood out the most. Marek (our designated waiter for the evening) was super chill and matched the loose vibe at our table perfectly. The smalltalk and jokes we shared throughout the evening was on point! Personal, not too much, not too little. We felt very welcome.

Cosy place and lovely location close to the heart of the night life (I took some pictures during the day, but it looks much better during the night), but that's it. It would be a really nice restaurant, but the kitchen was not working 2 hours before the closing time + the waitress just ignored our table for quite a while. The menu (drinks in particular) was UNBELIEVABLY limited! Either the place was not prepared for the first Saturday in July 2021, or it's always like that here. Hope to change my review in the future, but so...
