I was excited about this dinner, but was unfortunately very disappointed. The serving staff was very friendly and skilled, but they seemed to be under staffed. The food took long to prepare and then had to sit forever at the pass, which resulted in cold food and a five course dinner that took 2,5 hours! The dishes were more bland than expected and didn't give the experience I expected. The first course was okay, but it was archtic char, which tastes good in itself. The dish lacked texture. The second course, the butternut squash, was boring and cold. The third course, the pork belly, was the worst of the dishes. The pork was chewy and tasteless, and the crackling was not crispy enough and so salty it was hard to eat it. The whole dish was cold when it came to the table. The forth course, grilled meat in lettuce wraps that you assembly at the table, was in part acceptable. However, the normally so good Korean bean sprout salad didn't taste anything. The kimchi was good, but half of the meat was chewy, and no more than lukewarm, even if the flavour was good. The dessert was the best, but not exciting enough to make up for the other dishes. This experience didn't warrant a second visit, unless they make radical changes. Oh wait - there was one thing I really liked...the raspberry and...
Read moreOutstanding and unique Korean-Swedish fusion experience. Having lived in Korea for several years, I was surprised both by the authenticity of the flavours and the creativity in which light Swedish touches have been incorporated. The quality of the ingredients (especially the meats) was exceptional, and the tastes extraordinarily refined and balanced. During a busy night with some staff shortage, the meal was a bit slow to start but then proceeded without hiccup and definitely without any sacrifice of quality, and we were very excited to have chosen Namu and look forward to being back. The quantity of the food was a bit on the small side even though we had chosen the large tasting menu - the bowl of rice for two to share was significantly smaller than what in Korea one person would receive. If you are hungry, I would therefore recommend that you order 1-2 more dishes from the a la carte menu. They also offered an extremely tasty vegetarian version of the menu and very...
Read moreGiving it a four. The service was great, as was the drinks and the setting although a bit noisy. The steak tartare was the favorite dish of the night, it was great! An additional dimension would make it superb though, perhaps something like the green chili- and gingerdip that was served with the dumplings. The confit eggyolk was nice but lacking freshness. The beef gangnam style was the letdown, underseasoned, the flank steak surprisingly tough, poor choice of salad leaves to accompany it. It left you with a feeling of being overrated. Didn't try any dessert, but from what I've seen and heard they are great.
All in all; good food, some great. Great drinks. Great service. It's a bit costly and can't help but feel that some things...
