Cafe Review

I recently visited this cafe, and while the atmosphere was nice, the location convenient, and the place clean, my experience with the food was very disappointing.

I ordered a baked potato, but what I received was anything but. It was a large, watery potato that had clearly been cooked in water and then heated in the microwave right before serving. A proper baked potato has a distinct, dry texture with a crispy skin and a fluffy interior — something you achieve by baking it in a special oven, not by boiling and microwaving. This potato was cut into small pieces, which is not how a jacket potato is traditionally served. The butter should melt into the hot, dry potato, giving that signature grilled-like flavor, but that experience was completely missing.

The salmon sauce was equally disappointing — it tasted processed and artificial, lacking the fresh, well-seasoned touch you expect from a restaurant dish. While the salad was fresh, it didn’t fit the typical jacket potato experience. I also had a cappuccino here a few days ago, and the milk wasn’t properly foamed or heated to the right temperature. This cafe has potential due to its great location and cleanliness, but the food preparation needs serious improvement. Arrived late afternoon, it was apperent that everything is made early morning. Still the smørrebrød tasted great (even though it was a bit dry). The semla however was bad, either it had gone off during the day or it was always bad. Would have liked it if they knocked a couple of sek off the price if things aren't going to be fresh. Espresso was good. Liked the decor. In warmer seasons there is several tables to enjoy food outside. Absolutely a breakfast/lunch place. A nice place to have a coffee and something to eat. We were there on a Saturday morning and it wasn't too crowded. The staff was very friendly, although it is a bit strange when the staff wears airpods. You're not sure if they're really listening to you. The coffee and chai latte were good.
