The locals love the Spanish spirit that Vibliotek brings to your table. The music, the wonderful deciration,.. it actually feels that you step in Spain!
A go-to place on a sunny day as it is beside the river and has tables outside.
You can order a Spanish omlette (“tortilla de patatas” or potato omlette), or a “tabla”, which is a bit of “jamón” or ham, cheese, chorizo or salami, etc…
They also have wines and sangria. I also saw someone having and individual sized paella.
I doubt that they are fresh and that the paella and the Spanish omlettes, I am pretty sure they are pre cooked and are “ready to go”, but at the same time this is the price most locals would be willing to pay for the very valuable convenience of not having to call the day before to order one (which is what I would personally do in Valencia, Spain when having a paella with my kids on holidays).
I would also recommend the “pimientos padrón”, which are green roasted peppers with plenty of salt; these also common in Spain.
Sometimes they have events, such as flamenco shows. I am not sure of the dates but feel free to ask the friendly waiters in case they have an upcoming event, or “fiesta” of some sort.
Overall, I would recommend the place and must admit that I do go back there every now and then!
There are bicycle parking places around as well as a large covered car park on the other side...
Read moree were five people visiting the Spanish restaurant Vibliotek, eager for an unforgettable culinary experience. However, what awaited us was nothing short of a gastronomic nightmare.
We started with fried calamari, but to our dismay, they were excessively greasy. Each bite was like chewing on an oily sponge, completely devoid of the crispiness we had hoped for.
Next, we ordered the octopus, anticipating a flavorful delight. Instead, we were served something that tasted solely of oil, as if someone had forgotten to add any seasoning or care to the dish. It was a complete insult to what should have been a masterpiece of Mediterranean cuisine.
The final blow came with the Spanish tortilla. We expected a perfectly cooked, creamy delight, but what we received was a sad, scrambled mess. It resembled overcooked eggs more than the beloved Spanish classic.
From start to finish, this was a culinary disaster that we won’t soon forget. How could it go so wrong? What happened in the kitchen that night? This surreal dining experience left us bewildered and deeply...
