Ah, my esteemed encounter with the illustrious Gustav Adolf in Malmö left me utterly enchanted—by a rude, indifferent, and thoroughly hapless crew, crowned with the charming title of the "Unhappy New Year's Crew". A masterful performance, truly.
One might generously consider this a singular aberration, a one-time fluke in the grand tapestry of culinary mishaps. Alas, my adventurous spirit shan't embark on a return voyage to uncover such mysteries.
No encore for me at Gustav Adolf, for it has successfully stirred a formidable discontent that lingers with the tenacity of a fine wine stain on white linen.
This establishment, in its infinite wisdom, managed to accomplish the feat of not only perturbing but genuinely upsetting my delicate sensibilities. Bravo, Gustav Adolf, for achieving the unenviable task of hard-pissing me off.
In the pursuit of a delightful evening on my fleeting one-day sojourn in Malmö, the restaurant, with commendable precision, transformed my aspirations into a whimsical nightmare. A round of applause for shattering dreams, dear Gustav Adolf.
A humble piece of advice for those venturing into the noble service industry: if the prospect of attentively serving patrons (preferably with a perpetual smile) and addressing their myriad requests doesn't evoke sheer joy, consider alternative career paths. Gustav Adolf, unfortunately, appears to have missed this memo.
And should one find oneself grappling with the vexing conundrum of understaffing, a sage recommendation emerges from this unfortunate encounter—perhaps refrain from opening the restaurant doors altogether. A notion as refreshing as a well-chilled glass of disappointment.
In conclusion, Gustav Adolf, you've orchestrated a symphony of missteps, leaving an indelible mark on my gastronomic escapade. May your culinary endeavors continue to inspire awe, if not appetite, in those who dare to cross your threshold. Cheers to an unforgettable experience, for better or, in this case, for...
Read moreWe went here on a weekend evening. There was a lot of people so we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. Atmosphere was cozy and lively, a little bit on the noisy end. Service was for the most part very good. One out of the 4 waitresses seemed a bit uninterested. Otherwise professional, and helpful.
Food wise, it was overall good. Felt a little bit fancy to pay 229kr for meatballs and mashed potatoes. The whiskey sauce was the highlight for that dish. The charcoal steak was ok, nothing astonishing. The beanese sauce had a little bit of a tanginess to it, not my favorite. The salmon had a nice sweet marinade with a lot of things on the plate. Nothing extra ordinary but good with a lot of food. Plate sizes were generous so you won't leave hungry. Nachos appetizer was ok, quite large with two sauses. Cheese sause was not warm which was a shame. Strength overall was that nothing was bad, everything was delicious.
I asked what desserts they make in-house and they said the Toblerone Mousse. It had a nice Toblerone flavor to it, and texture, but a bit over-sweet. And 80+kr for chocolate mousse is a bit too much personally. The Creme Brulee was a nice surprise. Not too thick top layer and the bottom part was not too sweet.
Overall, generous sizes, mostly good service, cozy atmosphere, and good food. If I could, I would...
Read moreThis place, let me tell you. The staff is really good here, they understand service, and they understand GOOD service. The staff really made this visit great. And with just small things by the staff, always making sure you have what you need. Checking in, getting more things and being very friendly but not being too much. Basically staff you'd expect from a Michelin Star restaurant. Now the food, it isn't Michelin-level food. But it is very good, the prices are good for centre city. A bit high obviously if you compare with outside of centre city. But lower than many others. And the atmosphere inside is just perfect, even with a lot of people in there you feel like you can talk to your clique without having to raise your voice, and you can't really hear other peoples conversations. They've put a lot of thought into furnishing. And the decorations and lights are really nice. You should...
