My wife and I were visiting Sweden from Las Vegas, NV. You wouldn't think it but Las Vegas is a vastly under appreciated food capital of the US. We have Famous Chefs open restaurants in our casinos that are some of the most wonderful dining you can partake in. We have a deep cultural melting pot there as well, so most food of any ethnicity you want is available and usually cooked by the people of that land. Sushi is no exception, we have amazing sushi for a land locked city because we have a very fresh fish market from which most high end restaurants in Vegas get their product. Thats simply a preamble in order to establish that at least my love of sushi is from having so much of it be so good in my own city. Zushi is then, by my opinion, one of the best and coolest sushi restaurants i've ever visited. Its dripping with style, mirrored walls with deep red lights give the restaurant an ambiance that says Blade Runner yet it does not abandon that important feeling that is supposed to be in sushi restaurants; a sense of respect for the institution and art of sushi. It has beautiful natural meets un-natural tree settings and a raised area that is meant for sitting on mats at a low table. The aforementioned mirrored walls give the normal space a sense of size and the cool center bar area is indented in the ground where bar sitting is technically on the floor but with a channel to sit upright in. Like I said, very cool. On to the most important part, the food. Its amazing and I am not saying amazing in order to have a way to sound like I think its better than great. It fits the literal definition, I was amazed at each bite, The fresh fresh fish, the properly sticky rice, the amazing presentation, the menus ability to be confident in a smaller selection than the average sushi restaurant. I was surprised but I came to realize that the smaller menu was something I was thankful for since the options were perfect. They cover all the different styles of sushi that individual people want from baked rolls, to heavy on the fish rolls, Tangy, spicy and even vegetarian options. The appetizers were wonderful Japanese fare and I only out of a desire to have more sushi resisted ordering even more. Even ordering was unique as they use an app to complete these. Normally I expect people to resist that based on a need to get menus back in their hands post heavy covid restrictions but the process was truly simple and actually made the experience a little smoother. Our waitress Nour was awesome since we only speak and read English. We are always hesitant to throw ourselves into stuff like that for fear of making a mistake. There was no need, the app was english friendly and Nour was always checking on us. When freed of the order process the service gets better and better. Nour was always available and waiting to help or accommodate. A gentleman behind us made a mistake when ordering and Nour was right there to correct it and was able to let the kitchen know asap. She was kind and even had time to talk to us about our travels and about Sweden as a whole. My wife and I wished she was our friend when we left, that's usually a good sign in my opinion. Zushi also offers cocktails and in Sweden, drinking seems to be quite popular and at the same time heavily regulated, so Drinking is at dinner or in a club with a bar specifically. My wife and I would take a chance to drink in restaurant pretty quickly. Zushi also excels here as well with unique custom cocktails that all had huge flair. My drink was this amazing fruit combination that was truly delicious so I had 2 .Lucky for us Alice was the bartender and she made the drink almost so close to the original I had that I was worried id time traveled. Alice was also very close at hand and upon hearing our accent was kind and curious as well, it was hard not to be excited while eating there. If you are in Malmo you would do yourself a disservice to skip Zushi. If youre even more lucky you'll be served by Alice and Nour. When were back, Well be back....
Read moreI came with my wife and friends on the 21.02.2023. I got to know about this place thanks to some pictures another friend sent over to a group chat we had, i was immediately fascinated by the beauty of the restaurant itself, but especially about how beautiful the plates of sushi were, so right away i really wanted to come here to eat. As for our experience i have to say this ranks up to the best sushi me and my wife have ever eaten, it was simply amazing in every way, the taste, the consistency, the composition of the plate itself, simply and truly amazing! We also had a cocktail each and that too exceeded our expectations and was definitely one of the tastiest we've had in quite a while. The staff was friendly, lovely, happy and gave the whole thing a fantastic feeling and left me with a smile, so good waiters are not easy to come by, they were really lovely. As a waiter myself, I'm always happy to see someone with so much positive energy and love for the job they do! As for what me and my wife got, it was a Kyoto mix platter and 2 Blossom cocktails for a total of 495sek. As for the price/quality ratio, it is definitely good! It costs a bit, but it is definitely worth the price and you won't leave the place hungry! I'm definitely coming back to eat in this restaurant, it was truly an...
Read moreWhat a let down. The fish was great but everything else was disappointing.
In particular the service was terrible: It felt like the staff was annoyed every time we asked them something We ordered mochi for dessert before the kitchen closed. After ~15 minutes, we ask a waitress if they saw the order and we're told the kitchen is closed... After we said it's already paid for and the order was put in before the kitchen closed they ended up bringing it They started cleaning the table while we were still sitting there. Even took our bottle of water away while we were still drinking and tried to take my partner's glass even though it was still full... She kept it but as soon as she put it down they came back to take it. Fairly late in the evening a group of four arrived. They asked to sit at a nice table near the ground and the staff was like "sorry no this is a table for six". Come on it was almost closing time and the restaurant was empty except for them, us and another couple! So they had to sit right between us and the other couple, even though the restaurant was empty otherwise. For extra laughs, the table they were told to sit at... Was a table for six as well.
I was there a few years ago and it was fantastic so i was really hyped about coming back and couldn't be more...
