Nice staff and great decor, but that's about all.

I personally ordered eggs Benedict. The egg (singular!) and hollandaise were both cold, having probably been prepared hours in advance.

Which makes me wonder why it took almost half an hour from when the first person in our group was served until the last person was.

I suppose it's partly because the staff insisted on making every single person's coffee before taking the next order - meaning that it easily took twenty minutes before everyone was sat down.

To make everything worse, they had lost our reservation, so before they even took our orders (which took forever, as mentioned), we had to wait while tables were put together.

All in all, I was extremely disappointed with the service at Le Mond - especially considering the high average of reviews on here. It might be nice for two people (if you like your egg and hollandaise cold), but it certainly isn't even...

Your internet password is “Review us”, you’ve got it! I arrived at 11:25 and had to leave at 11:30 because you created a nonsense rule that at 11:30 you don’t allow laptops. I was explained that you think that people take too long and occupy tables if they have their laptops. So I had to leave, find another place to work for 10 minutes and then come back at 12:00 for my lunch meeting. It was literally not allowed to have the laptop on, not because of a higher principle related to the use of digital devices, but just because you want to make more money. Unfortunately a disappointing experience. We had high expectations based on the reviews. The logistics of the place are not smart. You need to order inside, and they will then bring you the food. But if you queue inside, customers and staff can’t walk through. There was only one staff as a waiter and to make coffees / drinks and he was struggling to manage everything. It wasn’t too busy bit it took a lot of time for the drinks to arrive and they mixed up the orders. The food also took quite long. The food was average, nothing to praise about.
