Came here with a friend and it was our first time having Ethiopian food. I took beyeaynetu which was recommended by the waiter and my friend took a spicy lamb stew (don't remember the name of the dish). We also had tej (honey wine) for the first time. As a first timer, I would definitely recommend beyeaynetu because you get to try different things (chicken, beef & veg stew) in one tray. The lamb stew was too spicy for us though, so we didn't manage to finish it. Also note that both of us could not really take spicy food, so if you're just like us, it's better to go for milder options. According to the waiter, beyeaynetu is considered as a 50/50 spice level, and they don't have a non spicy option here. So please be prepared for that. I rated a 3 star for the food because we personally did not like the spicy lamb. Just the beyeaynetu alone would be a 4 star. As for the service level, a 3 stars. The staff were nice, but it took too long before we managed to wave down the staff to order our food, also it took almost an hour for the food to arrive. My friend was starving. We were placed in the other room where it is quite bright compared to their main room ( a lot dimmer) where the main entrance is. So I gave a 3 star for the atmosphere due to the bright lighted room we were seated in. If you're looking to visit Gojo and prefer a cozier, dimmer setting, I'd recommend to book your seats specifying seating in the main room...

I tried Ethiopian cuisine 20 years ago and was disappointed. So i decided to give it a shot in 2022 but was sadly equally disappointed. As hard as I tried giving it a chance, it simply doesn't work. And this is a top notch restaurant in Stockholm.
Also, it was quite expensive for the amount of food. I really did try to eat the beef stew, but the meat was clearly not well cooked and was chewy. My mother ordered rice instead of the Teff pancake bread. But it didn't taste any good. I also expected more juicyness, more sauce and more spices but was unimpressed by the blandness of the stew. I guess some of us don't like Ethiopian cuisine. It is overrated...
