During my visit the atmosphere was great, with gentle piano music playing, and the dimmed light showering the whole restaurant with warmth. A warmth also felt from the staff, who were friendly and helpful.
Two things, however, bring the score down.
Firstly, I was served the momos shortly after being served the rest of the meal, even though I asked for them first and the rest of the meal later. This unfortunately resulted in somewhat tepid momos.
Secondly, I could not get rid of the feeling that the small sides were just more maturely prepared and presented tapas options, created for a, more delicate, western palate. While good, they did not crest the peak I had expected of them, where the inferno shrimps, especially, lacked the tingly characteristics of sichuan pepper. Unless timmur was used, in which case the lack of a stronger tongue numbing effect can be forgiven, being replaced, unfortunately, with a lacking citrusy flavour.
Surprisingly, the burned ginger rice was for me the simplest, yet the most delightful dish with a beautiful aroma and gentle taste. The drink, I tried, was exceptional, and I could see myself return for it alone.
While not meeting all my expectations, the friendly staff, and the lovely atmosphere, more than made up for it. I hope I'll get to see this establishment develop, flourish, as well as go outside its comfort zone, and bring a piece of true Nepali food...
Read moreWe were hunting for some good authentic Asian cuisine and came across this place via our search and we are glad we stumbled upon rara restaurant in Stockholm.
We visited during lunch and the place was nice, fresh, clean so we could really enjoy our meal.
We ordered the grill (recommended to us), the tikka meat, Asian coleslaw and chimchuri was WoW. Simply delicious.
We went on Thursday again we were served and welcomed by Prakash, who was truly professional, polite and welcoming. He had good knowledge of the dishes they served, his recommendation of the momos was out of the world and it was delicious and packed full of flavour.
All the other dishes, were great too and really yummy!
The only area of improvement would be the keep going there’s nothing like rara restaurant in whole Sweden.
Prakash served us well and also helped us capture the memory of dining in this gem of a restaurant.
We'll definitely be back and look forward to tasting the other delicious items on your menu.
The ambience and service was top notch too and that's a lethal combination when the food, service and ambience are 5 ⭐...

The menu offered a fantastic selection of traditional dishes, and I opted for the Inferno shrimps and Hakka noodles with Fried chicken. Both the dishes were bursting with flavour, and perfectly seasoned.
What stood out most was the attention to detail in both the food and the service. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations, making me feel like a valued guest.
