TLDR: the place is amazing! The cookies and the fudge chocolate cake (small round) thing is super yummy! I had the red tea as didnât want caffeine in the afternoon - it was herbal and surprisingly nice, kept sniffing it and was calming! Absolutely loved this place!
Longer review: so Iâm a little taken aback with the somewhat neutral/negative reviews, but I guess everyone has a right to their own opinion and of course experiences. I have noticed this to be a âthingâ in Sweden, apologies if that comes across rude, not my intention, but Iâve noticed other places having bad reviews and Iâve ended up having a totally different experience đ€·ââïž
For me, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and even recommended what they thought might be ânicerâ when I was stuck choosing between items.
We managed to spot Camilla, she came over and said hi and spoke to us in English - she was very sweet and asked how we liked the place and things we bought - my wife explained to me that she is a well known/famous food celebrity.
The place is a little small, but thank God it actually exists - I personally havenât tried anything as good as this, Lille Bros (excuse my spelling if itâs wrong - Iâm not from Sweden) comes a close second, but their items are quite different.
I sat down with my wife and coincidentally the lovely Swedish lady sitting next to us asked us what we were having. She said this is the only place that has a London âvibeâ to it and that she absolutely loves this place, she compared it a little bit to Lâeto and Elan cafe (famous central London cafes). I laughed and said it must be my presence (not sure if she got the joke lol!). We then spoke about the yummy milk cake from Lâeto!
It did start getting quite busy after about 20mins of us sitting there - which I guess is a good sign.
I personally think this place is amazing and cannot wait to come again. It was extra cozy considering that it was snowing outside.
I wanted to try the hot chocolate, however I had ordered so many other sweet things that I was worried it might ruin the taste of the hot chocolate, hence the aforementioned red tea.
We also took away some cookies (salted caramel and saffron), both of which were amazing!
Next time Iâll be wanting to try sockerbulle (again apologies if Iâve spelt it wrong - filled sugary bun thing) and the hot chocolate.
Unfortunately I didnât take any...
Read moreIt is a small place, with a few tables that are placed very close together.
The staff was friendly but very unexperienced, with that comes a variety of difficulties while serving the customers needs.
The acoustic is at a very poor level, there is nothing stopping the sound from bouncing around. This makes it very loud sitting there, you can almost not hear the other person talking that is sitting on the other side of the table. The sound level is like being at a crowded bar, you almost have to lean towards the other person to hear them.
The pastries was surprisingly at a very poor level. The saffron kladdkaka vas very dry, it was like a dry sponge cake with dry edges, and the crust was very hard, pushing down the spoon made the cake crack. The whipped cream was not at a good level, it was without taste which comes with cream that is bought in a spray bottle.
The carrot cake was was soft with a creamy top, yet it was tasteless. With a blind test I wouldnât have known it was a carrot cake from just the flavours of the cake.
The pastries was at a poor pre-bought level which can be found at majority of other franchise cafe in town. Yet, the price range for the pastries was at...
