Hantverket means "The Craft". This restaurant of culinary crafts is well worth a visit if not two. The top stars for our dinner experience are #1 - Dessert of "Apple sorbet with almond cake, apple compte and ginger-(foam), #2 Cold starter of "Thinly sliced raw beef with Jerusalem artichoke, gruyère cheese and hazelnuts" and #3 Warm main of "Grilled tenderloin with pumpkin, mushroom, polenta and crispy kale". We shared a few other dishes like Hasselback potatoes, scallops and isterband that were a little too salty but interesting to taste. Food quality overall is high and fresh. The only dish that I would not order again is the dessert of "Coffee ice cream sandwich with white chocolate, cacao crumble and chocolate crust". For an ice cream sandwich, it was too warm and the overall flavors and ingredients didn't complement each other. The servings here are small so expect to have at least 4 dishes for a more filling meal. To be fair, we were informed to expect a small plate size. There is a cosy bar area that has a good selection of alcoholic beverages. Our cocktails each cost as much as a dish but the drinks were skillfully made and tasted good. Even the ice cube that came with the drinks was pure and high quality. We went for an early dinner service at opening at 5pm and liked that it was calm and relaxing. By 7pm, it becomes rather crowded with higher noise levels. Service is attentive, professional and personable. We were never kept waiting too long after ordering. The restaurant is large with artistic touches. You can choose to sit at the counter and watch how the food is prepared or be seated at a table in the main restaurant or adjoining hall with a garden view.

Unquestionably, one of the best meals I've ever had. And to say the star of the show was a bowl of tomato soup, sounds ridiculous, but it is transcendent! I will forever dream about this bowl of soup and hope to one day be able to return for one more spoonful. It was unlike any bowl of tomato soup I've ever had. It was light and refreshing, and filled my body and soul with utter joy! I do love a grilled salad, and the grilled iceberg lettuce with baked cod did not disappoint. The two elements with what initially appeared to be potato wedges, turned out to be light and flaky pastry. I may have licked my plate! The struva with duck liver was crispy and savory, creamy and delectable. We had to stop ourselves from having just one, they are that good. The friendly staff, the warm environment, and the unique and tasty cocktails made for a perfect final meal in Stockholm. And it's one of the reasons I'll be returning just as soon as I can. If there had been a cookbook in English with that soup recipe inside, I would have certainly brought that home with me to try my best at recreating those flavors. Thank you Restaurant Hantverket, you will live in my DNA forever.

Hyped by the recommendations online and the great rating on Google I was really excited to try out this seemingly high class restaurant. And yes, on the surface everything appeard to be perfect. The location is designed very stylishly and classy, the staff is well trained and accommodating, the cocktails are delicious (!) and the presentation of the food is very inviting. But were it failed for me was the actual food itself, the flavours, the most important part about a restaurant. As recommended I ordered 1 dish from each of the 4 groups (snack, starter, main, dessert). As a snack I went for the signature hasselback potatoes. As mentioned the presentation was delightful and I had high hopes for these ones so you can imagine my disappointment when I bit into the first one and tasted... barely anything. The potatoes were cold (I guess that's a choice) hard and chewy and the only flavour came from the sour cream. I thought maybe the chef just had a bad day but the few low-rating-reviews on here agree with me so I am not the only one. Next the lemon cured mackerel. I could kind of taste the idea behind the dish but even for me as a salt lover this dish was almost inedible because it was so salty. I know a lot of people who couldn't have finished it. As my main I chose the pork chop which tasted alright but not special and the mix of different ingredients didn't work together very well for me. The dessert was good but you can't really mess up ice cream and berries. I really don't know if I caught a bad day, if my taste works differently from most reviewers or if everyone simply thinks they have to give 5 stars because it's a posh restaurant with fancy looking and sounding food. Very disappointing and not worth the money (except for the cocktails!).

A classic example of a modern restaurant where the design of the plates are more thought through than the actual food. the restaurant does everything in their power do deviate your tastebuds away from the main ingridients by smothering the dishes in fat, salt and sweetness, often managing the seemingly impossible task of making you feel over/underwhelmed at the same time. However, overwhelmed as you become by mountains of parmeggiano grated on your dish, it cant cover up the biggest problem of the food which is the fact that its incredibly boring. Having tried the first snacks on the menu, you tried it all. Everything tastes the same from there. This is very confusing since the main ingredients of the dishes (offcourse) changes completely through the menu. I think this is related to previously mentioned problem of covering up the dishes with mountains of grated cheese, fried bases/garnishes which create a very round flavour profile that the menu as a whole suffers from. As for the drinks, the bottle of nebbiolo was superbe, however when asking the somelier about which wine would match which food the answer was: ”all of our wine goes with everyting”, an answer certinly not based on a lack of knowledge rather then one perfectly suited as a phrase to describe the philosophy of this restaurant.

The place appears lovely. The menu looks fresh. But as soon as the food was delivered the fame dropped. If you want to serve the food at the table, first is to serve all the food. Please do not serve half of the mash potatoes and go back to the kitchen after. Same if some of the customers are not Swedish. Speak English or at least ASK FIRST. I cannot say the food was bad, despite some major issue with seasoning too much salt for the flatbread and pork, no seasoning for the pork belly. Also, do not remove our cocktail glass if half the cocktail is still IN!! At the end, a very very small (too small) portion of food for a price equivalent to normal size and a menu that promised a lot ( I now want my pork belly) for at the end a pork stew I do not think the restaurant is bad, just the service and the promised menu. I would not give a 4.6 with more than 1.6k review. But for a restaurant that does have the best notation in Stockholm I am disappointed ☹️

I went here again 2 weeks after my first visit. And it was again superb and I had other dishes that I didn't taste from my first visit. Sadly, I have to wait for a new menu since I have eaten all. But now I have something to look forward! (Below review is from my first visit) This is a must place if your are in town! Every dish is amazingmy well prepared and tastes fantastic! And all dishes are served in small or medium size and you do get filled up if you take starter, main and dessert. And it costs less than 500 sek! I think it is a good idea to serve medium sized portions, it can be enough to some and creates enough room in your stomach and you want to try other dishes as well. Portions are about tasting menu sizes. And I think that is the whole point of idea behind the menu. If you like Lilla Ego, you sure don't wanna miss this gem in Stckholm. In my mind Hantverket deserves a Michelin star!
