I has high hopes after the hotel recommended this place but was disappointed overall in my experience at dinner here tonight.
The good: Close to our hotel. The tagliatelle with truffle cream sauce was clearly fresh pasta and well made. Very enjoyable.
The bad: My friend ordered a dish based off a menu given to her in Swedish, not realizing it contained an ingredient she is highly allergic to. They kindly offered to take off the dish from the receipt but our server charged us anyway and was rude when we reminded her that she said she wouldn't charge for it. Service was incredibly slow (that pasta dish my friend couldn't eat sat on the tiny table for 45 minutes, so eventually I ate for her, which is why we were apparently charged). Pasta alla vongole had small clams and an oily, broken, over-salted sauce. Veal saltimbocca was fine but about the quality I would expect at a local Italian American joint - nothing special. Tiramisu was basically a pot of whipped cream. Good whipped cream, but no flavor. The atmosphere was nothing special either other than so dark you couldn't read the menu and cramped for space.
When I left, I was just annoyed we spent $200 for a meal that we could have had at home in the US for $50 with better service and atmosphere. You can get a much better meal with better service for this price at any number of other restaurants we have tried in Stockholm. If you must have Italian, I would try...

The place was pretty full but super cute! The italian vibe was definitely there and the personnel (which were authentic Italians) were really adding up to the overall experience we had that night.
I tried the scallopinia and the tiramisu and was pretty on point, and the wine labels recommended from the personnel were matching nicely with the dishes that we had. The Barollo was great!
The prices were high as expected both from the neighborhood and the service level and quality pf food we received.
We were asked to leave our table after our 2-hour reservation was over, but we were welcomed on the small pub next door which also belonged to Trattoria Montanari.
It's a must-try if you like...
Read moreWould not recommend this 'genuine' Italian restaurant - we ordered Spaghetti alle Vongole and Bigoli al limone con frutti di mare. First surprised by the small size of the Bigoli portion, then the taste - no sign of either lemon, chili and garlic. The same result with the Vongole pasta, here was no taste at all, furthermore half of the scallops wasnŽt opened and we didn't want to take the risk to eat them. Notified this to the waiter which said she will inform the chef. No discount or refund or anything to compensate for that. So busy at lunch and sooo crowded in between the tables that one couldn't move out from the sofa without hitting the items on the table or bumping into the...
