A place above the ordinary. Not because the interior design is retro but feels authentic (more to the USA of the 60s than a Swiss hut), not because the food served is fresh and tasty (actually, it is a foodie experience if you have never had a fondue or raclette dinner before), but because of the fact that the restaurant owner is also the woman serving you and she cares for her place and shows that with her big smile and nice welcoming! She takes her time explaining the procedure, stops by to ask if you need more of anything continuously and is making you feel like being at home (meant in the best possible way). Added to that, and a feature that is hard to find at any other restaurant in Stockholm today, you NEVER feel stressed. You never feel it is time to leave until you genuinely want to get going yoursel. It is an amazing feeling and one that at least I had forgotten about in a town where people are always on the go and restaurant-wise you either eat/order more or leave to make way for the next customer. We stayed for 3 hours and not a single moment did we feel that we had to order something more to not be occupying a table, despite people being declined because the place was full for the evening.
We ordered the raclette and the fondue, a glass of wine and a bottle of beer for our company of two. We also had the chocolate fondue (including an amazing water melon sorbet) before paying and it felt like the 700kr (in total, that is!) was less than we had been ready to pay for only sitting there chatting away while Iistening to the old classics being played in...
Read moreAfter an off the cuff remark while on our trip to Stockholm, we happened to mention fondue. I know, Sweden isn’t known for fondue but we were so happy we searched and found this restaurant tonight. The owner, Madelene was an absolute delight, attentive and so friendly and we spent much of the evening talking about music. The fondue itself was amazing and certainly sorted our craving for cheesy delights. The garlic bread was super garlicky and all extras, pickles etc complemented the meal. With Madelene’s hosting it really felt like we were in a more homely environment than a restaurant. Come here for the food, and a truly Swedish welcome...
Read moreWe spend New Years Eve in soaré with All you can eat Raclette for 280kr per Person. We were a big group and had our own room where we could spend the complete evening - so it was a great atmosphere for us. It was really delicious food (especially the gratin to the Raclette was fantastic). Also they had special vegan meat options for the Raclette - really cool!
But at all, the nicest aspect was the great and personal service, who really made our evening even better!
We enjoyed our dinner and would absolutely spend New Eve there again!...
