Meno Male Vasastan — Restaurant in Stockholm

2.5-star in my view. I’ve heard so much good stuff about this place, but it was a big disappointment for me. I went here twice in a week’s time to check out if the first time’s disappointment was just a coincidence, sadly it was not. It was equally disappointing for both of the times. The biggest disappointment was the pizzas being soggy. The central part of the bottom was totally soaked in liquid and tasted just like putting pita bread in water for a long time. It was such a waste of dough because actually the pizza edge tasted really good, it was stretchy and soft, with the pleasant scent of baked flour. The first time I thought the soaked soggy bottom came from the mozzarella placed in the center of the pizza, so the second time I ordered another pizza without fresh mozzarella. However again it was dripping liquid at the bottom of the pizza, and my friend’s frutti di mare pizza was the same level of watery. Also the environment was not suitable for a pizza place, some tables were way too small to place the pizzas properly, as shown in the second picture, a quarter of my plate was not even...

This really puts the meno in malé. Like Mr.305 made me say Dalé. The guy at the counter was happy, amable. We ordered our pizzas, a lá carte.

Pizzas ain't sliced, maybe that's right. Hunger was quenched throughout the night. Getting good dough, the future is bright. The yeast in my stomach bubbled like sprite.

I like to quite say the positives and the negatives. And in meno male they can get quite creative. But for the creativity you gotta pay up the price. Yeah, good for a quality that is just all right.

Service is bleak, so the table was waxed. It my be strange to pay an Italian tax. For the oven is authentic but my wallet is not. So for a 190kr a pizza i expected bit more.

Oh yeah you gotta get utensils and water and paper and slice your pizza yourself, + combined with high price and wax on the table and you're always paranoid it will get on your food all the time. At the beginning, the atmosphere was nice, but things went downhill after we placed our order. We decided to test the place by ordering two pizzas for four people and one beer. Since tips are paid upfront at the counter, that’s when the problems started. The pizza with burrata came without burrata – it was served separately, which felt odd. The meat pizza, on the other hand, was full of cartilage, making it unpleasant to eat. While we were eating, more customers arrived and had to wait outside for a table. The staff kept watching us very noticeably, and as soon as we finished the pizza, our plates were taken away – despite the fact that I was still drinking my beer. It felt rushed and disrespectful.
