My partner and I visited this charming nook while visiting Stockholm for a short while. I can wholeheartedly say that this is one of the best eateries I've ever had the pleasure of dining within. The tasting menu's sophisticated balance, paired with the restaurant's overwhelmingly endearing irreverence toward the stiffness of traditional fine-dining is more than enough to make any avid epicure want to return.
The precariously placed black-out curtain mantled over the whole entrance is enough to make any wandering bystander pass its threshold in the name of curiosity. For us, this similar whim massively paid off, being immediately met by the naturally welcoming aromatic calefaction of open flames that would go on to cook most of our dishes to come. We felt that the staff effortlessly mirrored this warmth, making it hard to believe we hadn't merely stepped into a small-holding, governed only by a group of unpretentiously passionate, culinarily prodigal twenty-somethings that know how to work a room. There seemed to be an air of assured, time sensitive drive to the chef(s) and sommelier, while at the same time finding time to eloquently describe the elements of the dish or product, detailing its sustainably sourced provenance, which is naturally one of the most salient themes of Prospero. Locally sourced Swedish produce cooked to within a millimetre of divine perfection, to say this food is worth the price of admission would be an understatement.
P.S Thank you so much to the chef who gave us sage-like information about the local football culture and his beloved A.I.K, we really appreciated knowing exactly what we were getting into before the game, it really did...
Read moreI m a customer since the day they opened. The last two times i have visited Prospero, was completely dissapointment. They are experimenting the last year, trying to attract more customers and be more affordable perhaps but the dissapointment is huge. Tonight we had dinner. A very BASIC dinner. No suprises in flavours, very basic ingredients, poor imagination and very poor taste. I m extremely dissapointed. My friends felt the same. And the cherry on top, was that they overcharged us in the bill. We complaint. They said they "fixed" the mistake, the sum was again more than it should. My friend decided to paid in the end without saying anything, just for us to leave sooner. It completely ruined the feeling of the night. After so many years and countless amazing tastings, i dont think we will ever be coming back again to Prospero. Very sad. I wish you guys, went back to initial more expensive but totally worthy menus and combinations. Or at least put some effort again in your plates...
Read moreWow, what a great experience this was! We made an eight pm reservation at this very cute little restaurant. They offer a 4 course menu that can be padded with snacks in the beginning and an extra cheese course after the meal. We chose the regular prefixed and ordered a glass of wine each. The wine pour was not very generous at all! We started with a cabbage dish which was amazing with dill and basil flavor. Wow! We were also given homemade sourdough bread with amazing butter. Then came mackerel with cucumber which was also delicious! Then came the roasted chicken breast with white sausage. So, so delicious! The dessert was with camembert ice cream with rhubarb and an extra dessert consisting of a sourdough sponge with blueberries! Wow, both the desserts were amazing! Overall a great experience. I would...
