Pizzeria Da Chiara — Restaurant in Basel

This is a lovely family owned Italian restaurant here in Basil. It’s off the beaten path but in the neighbourhood the food is cooked to order quality is outstanding. I grew up with New York Italian and find this level of Italian food here was amazing.

The owner and their staff are just the most friendly people who make wonderful recommendations. It’s a warm place. We decided to give it a try since the restaurant recently opened in our neighbourhood. We came for lunch and opted for the “mittagsmenu” (lunch menu). Service was great, we just had to wait for a bout 2 minutes before the waiter arrived to welcome us, food arrived quickly and we have been offered a digestive (very nice of them). Pizzeria Da Chiara was the first place that we ate on our trip to Basel and we were very pleased that we chose it. We arrived quite late, but were met with a friendly welcome and immediately shown to a table. My wife and I both chose pizza, which was served with an excellent house red wine.
