I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pizzeria La Perla in Basel, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff, who made us feel welcome and comfortable. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with traditional Italian decor and soft lighting.
Once we were seated, we were impressed by the extensive menu of mouthwatering pizzas, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
We decided to start with the bruschetta, which was perfectly toasted and topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, and a drizzle of olive oil. It was the perfect appetizer to whet our appetites for the main event.
For our pizzas, we chose the classic Margherita and the Quattro Formaggi. Both were cooked to perfection, with a thin and crispy crust and a generous amount of toppings. The sauces were rich and flavorful, and the cheese was perfectly melted and gooey. We also appreciated the option to customize our pizza with our choice of toppings.
To accompany our meal, we ordered a bottle of red wine from the well-curated wine list. Our server recommended a local Swiss wine that paired perfectly with our pizzas.
As we savoured every last bite of our delicious pizzas, we couldn't help but notice the attention to detail in the service. Our glasses were constantly refilled, and the staff checked in on us regularly to ensure everything was to our liking.
To end our perfect meal, we indulged in the Tiramisu for dessert. It was the perfect balance of creamy and light, with just the right amount of coffee flavour.
Overall, our dining experience at Pizzeria La Perla was everything we could have hoped for and more. The food was outstanding, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was delightful. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Basel looking for a top-notch pizzeria experience. We will definitely be returning for more delicious pizzas...
Read moreStumbled across this place yesterday with my girlfriend and our friends on a visit to Basel. We were really hungry from walking around all day and looked for the closest Italian restaurant. We couldn't have picked a better place to eat.
The food was beautiful! We were made to feel very welcome! The owner and his staff were very friendly and we had some laughs together. We were given fresh hot bread rolls and olives on arrival. We ordered a few drinks and our food order was prepared almost in front of us and was ready at the perfect time.
When we finished our meal we had a final drink of limoncello with the owner. We had a lovely time here and would go back in a heartbeat.
The prices of the food and drink are also very reasonable and the quality of the food is excellent. There is a lovely atmosphere both inside and outside of the restaurant too. There is also a tram stop just 5 minutes walk away that can bring you straight back into the main train station in Basel. Needless to say we will very likely come back again on...
Read moreOn a week day at 13:00 there were 4 tables occupied and 3 staff (2 in service and 1 in the kitchen).
We both ordered a glass of wine, a Risotto porcini and a pizza Frutti di mare. Two green salads were included with our order.
If you now look at the photos you will see what the food was like, and this also reflected the type of service we received.
When we got over the shock of the drowned iceberg salad, our main courses were served but the wine was forgotten. We gave the salads back.
I needed a magnifying glass to find the sea food. If you look at other pictures of Frutti di Mare on the internet you will see what I mean. The risotto was ok but not worth the price. A bit wet but not creamy.
In the end we had to catch the waiter’s attention so we could pay. Generally very...
