Ploy Siam — Restaurant in Basel

I had a great lunch at Ploy Siam. A big open kitchen fills the space, you can clearly see everything that’s going on in this space, the owner greeted me friendly and told me it’s a pickup or delivery restaurant… yet she offered me to sit on one of the chairs to eat inside the restaurant (very nice gesture), it was freezing cold outside and I was far from home :) The food was delicious, they had five dishes for lunch to choose from! Overall a great place to repeat, can’t wait...

very fast service in a take out location and cheap prices. I had pad thai and it was OK but overall cleary below average. they do not prepare your portion as you order they pre-prepare the pad thai which clearly lacks in quality (deepness of flavours, overcooked noodles and vegtables) would rather pay 3-5 CHF more to get a decent pad-thai. Their buffet-system might better work with their curries but did not had one...

Das Essen ist zwar gut, der Service aber miserabel! Ich habe heute viermal auf den Anrufbeantworter gesprochen und ein Menü auf 18.30 bestellt. Ich habe nie eine Bestätigung erhalten. Dann noch eine Nachricht per Email. Auch keine Antwort. Als ich dann um 18.30 in das Geschäft kam, wusste niemand etwas von meiner Bestellung! Sie würden den Anrufbeantworter nicht abhören, hätten zu viel zu tun. Ich müsste warten, bis das Essen zubereitet sei. Warum gibt das Unternehmen dann eine Mobile-Nummer und eine Email-Adresse an, wenn die nicht funktionieren?

Auf meine Kritik hin hat sich der Inhaber von Ploy Siam bei mir sehr freundlich entschuldigt und die Bestellmöglichkeiten korrigiert - und mir als "Wiedergutmachung" sogar einen Gutschein geschickt. Das nenne ich einen tollen Kundendienst!...
