Fantastic cozy little restaurant. The chef puts a lot of thought into the beautiful and inventive dishes he prepares. Delicious of course. There's also a great selection of wines and drinks. Highly recommend that you book ahead. As starter, I had a "black forest cake" that's actually a mini tower of smoked trout, cured ham, pate and dark bread, dressed with melon and more cured ham shaving around it. As main course, I had a more "traditional" dish of stewed knuckles (lammhaxe) but hidden around the sauce reduction and salad are these crunchy bits of crusted flour helped along by perfectly stir fried kale leaves that bring this heartwarming old school dish a textured delight in every bite. This review is already getting a little long. So, all I'll say about dessert is that it's a deconstructed classic that made me want more of the meringue and berries, and I don't usually eat either. I would have gone back if I had a second night in Basel, and it seems they only...

My partner & I were lucky enough to get a table as we had not booked. We had what I consider to be one of best dining experiences I’ve ever had, everything was perfect. I had Coq au Vin, absolutely delicious. My partner had Venison sausage with potato, gravy & mustard, he loved it. We were given a basket of complimentary bread, superb! Service was friendly, helpful & attentive. And the restaurant itself is very charming in an understated way, lots of mood lighting with tealight candles, very pretty. The restaurant filled up quickly, I would strongly recommend booking a table. If I lived in Basel (we’re from Australia), this would be my go-to restaurant for...

We had a fantastic evening in this great restaurant. A perfect place to enjoy the last night dining out before the mandatory closing of the restaurants in Basel starting on Monday. Food was outstanding, the setting of the restaurant is quite modern yet very warm and welcoming. The staff was competent and caring. Would definitely come back when the restaurants...

The food here is gorgeous - we tried the 7-course taster menu and it was lovely but the service was so sedate that we were there for four hours which was a bit torturous at the end. The food is exquisite and the wine is really nice but the mark-up is a bit OTT - we paid 63F for a wine that cost 18,50F in the SBB wine shop.
