Good morning, dear friends,
Hope you are having a great time.
I want to share with you my experience visiting 'Tibits'.
I was travelling from Paris to Basel. The train was late because of Olympic games happening in Paris. I tried to book a nice place for a business meeting for 2 through the booking system from the train - no luck, very inconvenient. Tried to call to book - no luck. No answer explaining the reason via email.
I was disappointed and left 1 star (which I deleted, because I promised to delete if I like the food). After I arrived I checked the restaurant and there were many free tables. I asked why has it happened? Free tables, but no bookings?
I waited for the manager and he explained it was a system error and they are still working on it.
I decided to come in because it is vegetarian restaurant and I was hungry after the train, moreover the train was late and I felt very tired. Also the meeting was postponed.
The menu was quite nice and the atmosphere inside as well. When it came to pay the manager told me I have to pay only for the main dish, the soup will be a compliment.
I think it is very respectful attitude when it comes to misunderstandings like this and I appreciated this. That is why I deleted my 1 star mark and am leaving 4 star.
I think that the booking system needs more attention because there are many people like me travelling by train and having business meetings etc, and it is a pity that I couldn't do it from the train.
It is a very nice place to stay after the train - you can sit both inside and outside. And the food is vegetarian and healthy - better than inside the SBB.
Wishing the restaurant all the best and many more visitors.

BUT didn’t take into consideration that freshly cooked main dishes would be cold and less appetizing by the time they were placed on a cold plate, carried around while looking for salads and maybe desserts, waiting in line to weigh and pay and finally returning to a table which was reserved by placing a coat or other personal items on it, and all for a similar price of eating in a “table-served” restaurant where the food is served at least warm. The interior is entertaining but confusing in style but that is probably planned to inspire one to “eat and leave” and not “wine and dine”. ‘*’ From...
