Arakel — Restaurant in Geneva

We went for our date night. Amazing experience. Staff super nice and pleasant to talk to, very knowledgeable too! The dynamic between the 2 people hosting/serving, the amount of knowledge, memory, stories to share - very relax and friendly atmosphere, but not overwhelming, they really know what they’re doing. We were very well impressed. Food was delicious and super pretty presentation - we usually don’t but we actually felt that we had to take a picture of our food as each plate was like a work of art. Wine list is big and very good selections. We will definitely come back again and we will be recommending this lovely restaurant to our friends (and maybe bringing work colleagues or clients too when the occasion shows up as staff quality, decor of restaurant, food quality and presentation are to high standard!)

I have already been twice at this place. They have nice wine and food, obviously pricey, but I assume these are the prices in Geneva. However, I went last Saturday night after 22:30 and asked to have a drink. To my surprise I was refused. There were empty tables inside and outside and were not reserved. The reason I was given was that they were still serving food. I’m sorry, but I usually get refused to have dinner at that time, as the kitchen closes at 22:00. On a pris un cocktail et le menu en 6 temps. Le cocktail était délicieux et parfaitement équilibré (mountaineer). Avis partagé sur les amuse-bouches: une excellente (Saint Jacques), une sympa (espuma de chèvre) et les deux autres pas très équilibrées (dans une on sentait que la fleur d'oranger et l'autre était un peu trop sucrée). Le beurre fouetté à la vanille et fleur de sel avec le pain au levain étaient addictifs! Les entrées étaient exceptionnelles: le tourteau d'une délicatesse et d'une justesse remarquables, la soupe à l'oignon nous a fait tous tomber par terre, gros wow. Le poisson et la viande étaient très bons. Le pré-dessert était extrêmement équilibré, on sentait toutes les saveurs des agrumes et la chantilly vanillée venait à donner une petite touche de douceur, vraiment parfait. On aurait adoré terminer sur ça. En ce qui concerne le dessert, on aurait aimé quelque chose d'un peu plus gourmand: la pomme aurait pu être plus fondante et servie un peu tiède pour la petite touche confort par exemple. Personnellement j'ai trouvé la mousse de sarrasin intéressante. Les mignardises mériteraient un peu plus de recherche.
