We regret dining here. The cheese fondue was fine. However, our friend ordered a medium rare steak, but what arrived was a well done piece of meat with the texture of a burger patty. I attached a photo.

When we pointed this out, the waiter didn’t bother with an apology. Instead, we were informed that this was simply THEIR VERSION of medium rare. Our fault then, we should have been more specific and requested the version that every other restaurant seems to recognise.

Given the owner's responses to negative reviews, I fully expect to be blamed for not understanding their unique version of medium rare.

Update 21/3/25:

I already knew this was the response I’d get, which is exactly why I wrote the review in the first place. I don’t like giving businesses bad reviews, but when a restaurant refuses to take criticism and instead rewrites the story to make themselves look blameless, it becomes necessary.

Let’s set the record straight: our friend ordered medium rare, not medium. It arrived well done, a fact you continue to sidestep. Please don’t lie, the waiter absolutely did not inform the manager immediately, nor did he apologise. Instead, as I mentioned before, we were told that this was your version of medium rare and walked away. That alone speaks volumes.

It wasn’t until halfway through the meal, when our friend complained again because he genuinely couldn’t eat it, that anything was done. By then, he didn’t want the same dish “re-cooked" because, frankly, he had lost trust in your ability to cook a steak properly. Instead, he opted for a different dish, as you so graciously pointed out, was slightly more expensive. We paid for the price of the new dish too. Is this the way your restaurant apologise for serving an inedible dish?

So, you asked what did you do so wrong to get a one star review? Gaslighting customers about what they ordered, refusing to acknowledge mistakes, and then playing the victim when called out....

This was my choice to celebrate the birthday eve in and it was so pleasant! Thought It was traditional Swiss cuisine only, but they surprisingly had some pasta in the menu, which I actually had!

I ordered pasta bolognese and at first it was cold, but waiters instantly reacted and gave me another portion, which was of a perfect to eat temperature. Pasta was very good, I swear, I tried a lot in my life and this one was 10/10.

We also ordered Swiss raclette (it had 3 plates of cheese!) and it was delicious. Soft potatoes, perfectly cooked. Menu has a lot of fondue choices though!! Huge wine selection, we tried Minotaure Pinot Blank, a sweet white wine. Coming from Moldova, the country of wine, can assure it’s a perfect choice to have with their cheese😄

Definitely would recommend crème brûlée, one of the best I’ve ever had.

And thanks to Auberge de Savièse Team for the perfect birthday. They sang the happy birthday song and congratulated with a dessert and a Prosecco glass. This made my day so special!

Thank you for everything once again!

Make sure you make a reservation as we walked in and had a table after what people that were walking in, needed to wait for a table to be free. Gets pretty...

The waiter and manager literally forced us to take 4 orders of fondue, we explained its our first time to try it and we will order more if needed but they gave us an impression that 2 orders of fondue is not enough with salad, potato, mixed fruits, fries for 6 people (1 child), hence we agree. After fondue is served we realized IT’S REALLY A LOT and we couldnt finished half of it. He visited our table after serving and we told him its a lot, and its crazy how he explained us the reason why he suggested 4 serving (1st) that its a rush hour and they should accept people with minimum order (ok, we can understand it if from beginning it was explained to us that there is min. order in a rush hour) and (2nd) he cannot pay salary of his employee if our order is lesser than 4 fondue! It was extreme pathetic explaination! The manager of the restaurant literally ruined our last night in Switzerland by paying extra 2 fondue which we did not finished at all. Switzerland is beautiful country, and we appreciate it and had an amazing time but we are not recommending this restaurant to anyone at all, and dont be deceived of its 4 star review....
