Swiss🇨🇭 Geneva Restaurant Recommendation‼️

This was my choice to celebrate the birthday eve in and it was so pleasant! Thought It was traditional Swiss cuisine only, but they surprisingly had some pasta in the menu, which I actually had! I ordered pasta bolognese and at first it was cold, but waiters instantly reacted and gave me another portion, which was of a perfect to eat temperature. Pasta was very good, I swear, I tried a lot in my life and this one was 10/10. We also ordered Swiss raclette (it had 3 plates of cheese!) and it was delicious. Soft potatoes, perfectly cooked. Menu has a lot of fondue choices though!! Huge wine selection, we tried Minotaure Pinot Blank, a sweet white wine. Coming from Moldova, the country of wine, can assure it’s a perfect choice to have with their cheese😄 Definitely would recommend crème brûlée, one of the best I’ve ever had. And thanks to Auberge de Savièse Team for the perfect birthday. They sang the happy birthday song and congratulated with a dessert and a Prosecco glass. This made my day so special! Thank you for everything once again! Make sure you make a reservation as we walked in and had a table after what people that were walking in, needed to wait for a table to be free. Gets pretty busy after 7PM.

The fondue here is amazing. There's a great selection to choose from, but we kept it simple with the half and half. Fondues come with bread as standard so we ordered an extra side of potatoes. I would absolutely recommend doing this as the cheese tastes so different depending on what you dip. The bread brings out the wine notes, where as the potato has a much more subtle savoury flavour. The service is superb. We visited for a late lunch and were seated immediately. There is an English menu which you can request and the staff speak English which makes ordering easier. We loved the restaurant itself. The decor was so fun and we got a window seat. It was a hot day when we visited so it was nice having the front of the shop so open. The price of the food seems standard for Geneva. It is worth noting that the menu mentions an additional 2 chf charge p.p for tables which only order tap water. We ordered an orange juice for 3 chf because we only wanted water but thought we may as well order something if a charge was being applied. If I visit Geneva again, I will definitely be coming back here to try a different fondue or even the Raclette.

Our visit to Au Berge de Savies in Geneva promised a cozy evening of indulgence with cheese fondue and a new culinary adventure with veal. While the experience had its ups and downs, the restaurant's dedication to service shone through. Opting for the cheese fondue and veal for the first time, we eagerly anticipated a memorable dining experience. However, the veal fell short of expectations, lacking the promised tenderness. Despite this disappointment, the restaurant's attentive staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation, offering complimentary alcohol shots as a gesture of goodwill. As the evening progressed, we found ourselves enamored with the cheese fondue, savoring every gooey, flavorful bite. However, by the end of the meal, we encountered a common dilemma with fondue enthusiasts – cheese overload. While the veal may have missed the mark, Au Berge de Savies' commitment to customer satisfaction and exemplary service left a lasting impression. With its charming ambiance and dedication to rectifying culinary missteps, Au Berge de Savies remains a promising destination for those seeking a taste of Swiss cuisine in Geneva.

When we got there, we had some confusion on how to order as many of the items were per person. We found out later that you can order the fondue by per person amount and the entire table did not need to order it. We had 3 adults, but was recommended to start off with a 2 person portion of cheese as that was enough. Our server was named Melody and she was amazing! Her service was great and had a bubbly personality! She also told us her true opinion on certain dishes as she would let us know what she did not recommend to order and then highly recommended others. She was a great host as she helped guide us through our meal as it was our first fondue meal! The food was so good as well, I can see why everyone recommends it, the cheese and bread was so good, but I cannot say enough about the Malakoffs! Even thought it was 7 CHF per price and the size of a golf ball, I would order 5 just for myself! Melody recommended to cut it in half and crack fresh pepper over it, the pepper definitely enhanced the cheese flavor, highly recommended to do it this way.

A bit disappointed. The restaurant was full, the atmosphere and interior were very nice. Our server was with attitude “I dont have time for you, tourists”. He was bit older and definitely old style service. We wanted to share fondue FOR ONE to start, like we usually do, and after that to have a nice main course. The server didn’t let us. He said NO fondue is for MINIMUM TWO PEOPLE, YOU NEED TO ORDER FOR TWO. (I guess he wanted to charge us more or something) Definitely not nice but, We were like okay, we will. I mean we didn’t come to argue with the staff l, but to have nice dinner. In every other restaurant we ate during our 5 days trip, it was no issue to order fondue for one. We got fondue with morels, which was disappointing. Regular fondue with some pieces mushrooms inside. Nothing special. The sausage tasted fine but texture was not good. Fries were the best. Rosti with cheese were good. Table next to us had Raclette. The worst raclette I have seen, the melted cheese was served in a plate, without the grill. Sad.
