I recently visited the Espresso Club that left me utterly disappointed and disgusted by the entire experience. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff had a serious attitude problem. Sexist jokes and remarks were thrown around casually, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere.
Our order was a pizza, a glass of wine, and a coke zero, placed at 11:00. However, the mistakes began immediately as they brought a regular cola instead of the requested coke zero. Even worse, our second pizza order, placed at 11:25, never arrived. After numerous requests, we were finally informed at 11:55 that they were closing the veranda, and we were asked to take our pizza to go.
The level of disrespect we encountered was shocking. The staff insulted us and even had the audacity to tell us not to return. The pizza itself was a complete letdown—disgusting, overpriced, and served in an embarrassingly small portion. But what truly amplified the disappointment was the abysmal customer service. The waiter appeared to be intoxicated, emanating a strong smell of alcohol.
I would strongly advise against anyone wasting their time and money at this pizzeria. The overall experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the blatant sexism to the incompetence in getting our orders right and the shockingly bad customer service, this place has a long way to go in terms of professionalism and basic decency. Save yourself the trouble and find another spot to enjoy...
Read moreAs an Italian pizza-adept, I have long had mixed feelings about this place. However, in the end, my judgement remains positive and it well deserves 4 stars.
At first, I was very suspicious; it seemed set up for failure: the oven was ostensibly an electric one, not to mention that it was popular only among German friends with dubious taste. Clearly no Italian created the menu, since it featured a “mafiosa” pizza and one with maple syrup, which would surely be disqualified in any pizza contest run by an Italian jury.
Nevertheless, the crunchy pizza dough, the oily topping and the ingenious ingredient combinations have slowly conquered me. The horseshoe table creates an informal atmosphere, lost in time between the seventies and the nineties, and lost in space between...
Read moreAlthough this place has seen different owners in last 10 year, the pizza remains the same- delicious. It is fresh made with fresh ingredients. Either they don’t change their pizzaiolo or else they have a secret which goes from one hand to another. For those who never been there, it is a small tinny corridor and always full. Working hours are Grand Geneva Classic ( 12-14h) and ( 19-23h), but if you want to have a good pizza, pasta or salads they never changed it. The portions are very large and really delicious. By the way, service is also very friendly and attentive for this type of places. The guy who provided us the service last time kindly offered us a coffee. ( By the way, coffee is NOT Italian- it is typical made in...
