I have never left a review but my experience with Swiss Tours has been mixed, to say the least, so I thought I’d share to give a heads up.
The bad: poor website and then poor customer service when dealing with the ramifications of their poor website.
I tried to book a ticket for the Regular Line between Geneva and Chamonix directly through the Swiss Tours website multiple times, but 1) it forces you to create an account, and 2) when I tried to book with said account, it wouldn’t let me sign in so I couldn’t complete the order. I then tried a partner website multiple times with multiple credit cards (which gave me no issues during my previous week traveling throughout Switzerland) and each time, the charge would go through but no ticket would be sent. I was terrified of racking up a big bill. I showed up to the Swiss Tours Geneva office early to explain this. I showed them the sporadic credit card charges and screenshots of the errors, but 1) their tones were impatient and unkind given I was not at fault, and 2) they then still charged me the in-person price, which is double the online price (~16 vs. 30 chf one way) despite the fact that it was their website’s fault. This is a reminder to everyone reading this to budget for incidentals like this when planning trips so that it doesn’t completely ruin your experience as this almost did for me.
Furthermore, as others have said, their stop at the airport is not labeled and we had to ask multiple times how to get there. Note that the this bus does NOT leave from the same area as the public buses.
The good: it’s unfortunate their service can be so poor because they are the fastest option to Chamonix from Geneva. Flixbus, I hope you’re reading this because there’s a prime opportunity here. The bright spots were (some) bus drivers who were personable and kind. The buses were spacious and clean, and the drivers I had drove well and safely. The views are spectacular both in the journey and at the destination.
If you have a good experience with Swiss Tours Chamonix-Genève, great! If you have a bad one, take deep breaths and let it wash away when you get to the gorgeous...
Read moreScam tour company. Already book ticket online from Get Your Guide, your company use this service to promote your tour. We arrived 1 hour early and met with the captain and show him our booking and he comfirmed it was their company and comfirmed our booking for 4.30pm. When it was time for the boat ride suddenly said the boat is full and we cant ride the boat. The freelance agent call the desk woman and she is so rude and even curse at us through the phone call. Then we go to your office and your staff yell and curse at us not only that you drive us away from your office. Very poor service, rude, scam tour. Your company deserved to be close down for scamming tourist. Rude white typical karen.
Not only that, we already contact Get Your Guide customer service for refund and report the issue, when Get Your Guide CS contact Swiss Tour, you have a gut to tell lie saying you offer 6pm boat tour because 4.30 boat tour broke down…guess what I have photo of the boat from waiting 1 hour early from our booking time and we have photo of your boat with your captain and full tourist on the boat during the 4.30pm tour when you decline us to go on board.

Read morePlease avoid booking tours with this company. We booked a day trip to Chamonix from Geneva with the gondola and mountain train. Right from the start, there was no element of organisation. At the pick-up spot, people were queuing randomly and there was no separation between people who bought the whole package and people with just the bus ticket to Chamonix. Long waiting times and several late-comers meant that we took off from Geneva an hour late than scheduled.
On the bus, we were given the map and tickets. The people were constantly encouraging passengers to “upgrade” the trip with extras which became annoying very quickly. We were under the impression that the “guide” will help us navigate around Chamonix, especially as we didn’t speak French. But once we arrived in Chamonix, our “guide” disappeared and was nowhere to be seen. There was no way to contact them either. Everyone had to go around the town by themselves with just a paper map. Thankfully the locals were very nice and told us exactly where to go. Also, we were promised that we could skip the standard lines but we had to queue just like others. We missed the return coach due to some delays with the mountain train, and were made to wait an extra 3 hours in the freezing temperatures.
All in all, what was meant to be a pleasant trip turned out to be a nightmare. Chamonix is a must-visit place but please save your hard-earned money by making your own way there and avoiding this company...
