Saw this Indian restaurant and thought we’d give it a chance. Owner came out to greet us, which was fine at first. When we asked what was good, he said "all" before suggesting based on meat type. Still okay so far. Then it turned into a shitshow.

Instead of showing us the menu or actual dishes, he opened up Google to brag about his reviews and bash his competitors. It was already pretty late and we were extremely tired and hungry and just wanted to eat, not sit through his ego trip. Even when we tried to stop him, he kept going, pulling up competitor menus and comparing prices as if that proved anything. Maybe competitors charge more because their portions are bigger? He wouldn’t know, but he sure loved talking down on them. It was only after we told him twice to stop that he finally let us order.

And for all that bragging, the food was nowhere near worth it. It was average at best. The curry meat had uneven taste, meat and curry on top were bland / light tasting while those at the bottom was overly concentrated. Lazy stirring, plain and simple.

I'll say that the portion was just okay, and light on protein. It was sufficient to get us to around 70-80% full. Not bad I guess.

Service was hella frustrating. Another table who came in after us got their food way earlier and were halfway through before we even saw ours. what?????

So much for "top rated". The reviews he shoved in our faces feel heavily overrated. If you’ve had Indian food in Singapore or Malaysia, this doesn’t even come close. It loses in taste, value, portion size, and the overall experience. The only thing they win in is EGO (all the unnecessary excessive braggings) Back there, restaurants let their food do the talking. Here, we got forced into listening to a lecture about how great he supposedly is.

By the end, it left such a sour taste that I didn’t even want to share it on my socials. My friend even joked he should bring the boss to Singapore just so he can see what authentic, good Indian food actually tastes like, which is hilarious as I believe that Singapore’s ones probably isn't the greatest. But then again, I can't seem to recall eating any Indian Cuisine that's sadder than this, so there's that. At the very least, at least there's no boasting, or that the portion or price is better.

Bottom line: Overhyped, overpriced, underwhelming. Bragging doesn’t make...
