My husband and I were guests at the President Wilson Hotel, where this restaurant is located. We are Marriot Platinum members, and regardless of our Marriot status, had the BEST treatment ever received in a Marriott Hotel in Europe! However, we do not recommend this restaurant! We arrived on time, were led to our table, and given our Menus. It took a waiter 10 minutes to come to our table to ask us “ which cocktail” we were going to order. We were not ready to order a drink yet, and asked for a bottle of still water, which was taken by the waiter poorly, and he actually reacted disappointed! We proceed to look at our menus, and I soon realized that my Menu did not have prices near ANY of the choices offered. I was in disbelief! I found this to be condescending, patronizing, and border- line a gender discriminatory practice! I was beyond myself, and told my husband that between the wait, the fact that the menu was absolutely ridiculous, I did not wish to eat there! We left, and ordered in, and had the best time in our lovely hotel room, with our beautiful lake view!! They better watch out, and realize that this is 2023, and this practice is old-fashioned, discriminatory, and unacceptable! They...
Read moreThis is a difficult review. Three stars solely because of the service, which was impeccable. Just outstanding. And the chairs...wow. The "outer" experience was perfect. The food however was extremely disappointing.
We both ordered the full tasting menu. The entire menu was clearly a play of fats/richness against citric acid. This could have been successful, but the balances were very off. So much so that various bites elicited very negative reactions from each of us, if we got the wrong bite. As the meal progressed, it created a hesitance to enter a plate, not knowing where we might go wrong and get hit with an overly strong citric acid flavor.
The highlights was the poussine egg parfait, which was unctuous and delicious. The cheese cart was tremendous. But the other courses just fell short.
Given the special event this was supposed to be, our experience (as far as the food) was extremely...
Read moreI was there end of November, the ambience is stylish, still cozy, and not too posh. Service was really good. The food unfortunately not, we tried the Brittany crab, which if one likes creamy and cheesy may be satisfying, but if one wants the crab taste, not recommended. Also had beef fillet, there were no vegetables, its not one piece but cut in several thin slices, not my understanding of a good beef fillet, and sorry one slice was really dry as well. Several appetizers were served, too much actually, but I could not get excited about anything, too dry or too cheesy. Overall, the whole taste seemed more like I was at a swiss cheese fondue place, just turned into a more stylish reception, not recommended for gourmets. I asked as well to talk to the chef, but only the sous chef was there, and I told him my opinion about the food, kind of...
