Le Pain Quotidien — Restaurant in Geneva

Went inside to check out the cake that was on display - then ordered the last piece of apple tarte left together with a cappucino - waitress yelled at me that i should order outside - i apologized not knowing about this and just asked her to keep the apple tarte aside and i would sit outside and order (you see it coming I guess) - she actuall walked with me outside and took my order "again" officially" (= second time). waited for ten minutes and she came and served me a cappucino - i thought she makes her life tough because she had to come bavk with the apple tarte later... it then she walked to the table next to mine and started apologizing for not having anymore apple tarte 😂 the neighbor never ordered any tarte 😂😂 I made her aware that it was me who ordered - she did not remember but would go inside to make sure that the apple tarte was really gone - well she never came back (15 min) and I am still sitting here but now without my desert - the real reason why i went was for a Desert!!! I actually would loved something else as well... just can not convince myself to give them more...

The service in this restaurant is so bad it's almost comical.

A friend and I arrived with my stroller and placed it out of the way, not blocking anything, and we took a table right next to it. The manager (I assume) appeared in a bad mood and told us we had to move as we couldn't sit on that side (it was empty), and forced us to move to the side that was packed, with clearly no room to move the stroller around. No smile, no welcome - simply, 'move'.

We eventually found a new table and for five minutes constantly looked over at the staff (quite a few of them), signalling we'd like to order. The staff completely ignored us so eventually we ended up leaving, having not ordered anything.

All of my friends who live locally have had similar experiences, and this was the third time for me.

Avoid this place at all costs - the service is so bad you get the sense they don't actually want anyone there, not to mention the terrible and...

I read previous reviews and sadly surprised nothing is done to improve service in this restaurant. Today i ordered soup of the day and avocado tartine. Soup was ok, but tartine! A newspaper thickness peace of bread all soak with juice of tomato and couldn’t keep it form. Avocado also, I have never seen cut in a such thin slices. Some carrot/green salad on a plate side . And this set cost smth like 23 chf?! What? When I gave a feedback to waiters that the bread could be thicker. She replied, we cut it in machine and can’t adjust. When I proposed what if you start cutting with hands? She said, you know how many tartines we make a day to cut with hands? I’m really surprised how are they deaf to customer feedbacks… looks like it was my last time...
