Not a bad experience but I wouldn’t go back. Fail on the “local ingredients” concept and long waiting times.
We had a nice table outside, unfortunately with dirty napkins, and had a nice welcome by the waitress offering us an aperitif that arrived about 20 minutes later. Taking our food order, she forgot to ask us about wine and left. after a few attempts we finally caught her to order wine after our starter was already finished. The staff was nice but mentioned various times that they were very stressed, maybe some additional Staff would be necessary to make the experiment better. Food was good, rather cold, and we initially expected local ingredients as advertised in their “local strategy”(tuna, sardine, shrimps, crab ?) . Was sad to see not one Swiss wine one the menu (limited Swiss wines in their cellar apparently, if it’s a local concept why don’t they highlight local Producers?). When we asked about their local food concept they said that they are trying to change their strategy, but for the moment they get expensive “good stuff” from Portugal and Italy. All in all not a bad experience, but not one to repeat necessarily, the concept is clearly lacking and more staff would be helpful to make the experience enjoyable and avoid long...
Read moreWe come here sometimes with friends for interesting tastes. This time as starters we had sardines and an éclaire with lamb. Both were rather disappointing - the ingredients for both dishes simply didn’t mix well. Mains were also quite disappointing. For ramen that cost 35 chf (that’s 10 chf more than some best ramens in Lausanne), the broth was very weak, the noodles were regular pasta not ramen noodles of any type, and came with no soy sauce (was needed), or chopsticks. It was ok but the whole experience of it, with asking for each missing component is 100% not worth the price. The veal we ordered was mostly fat, and vol au vent tiny - each over 30 chf. Dessert was equally disappointing - no vegan / lactose free options for a restaurant arguably with ambitions is gobsmacking. The « cheesecake » comes deconstructed, with the « cheesecake » bits far detached from what a cheesecake is. Finally, 2 out of several water / non-alcoholic glasses were chipped / broken. What a pity, another place in Lausanne that used to be good but...
Read moreStarters Veal nuggets with satay was inedible 0/5 Both of us decided it was potentially the worst meal we had consumed. The "hot dog" wasn’t amazing either 2/5. Far too salty and cold. Tomato tart Tatin 4/5 it was the best of the entrees.
Main Gnocchi - 4/5 the Gruyere went well with the gnocchi, the parsley Creme was an odd addition and not necessary.
Desserts Greed - flavour was good but it misses a complimentary element such as a ice Creme, potentially a hazelnut gelato. It was too much to finish. 2/5 Lemon - if you like Yuzu and very sour elements you will appreciate this. 3/5
I am by no means conservative with my flavours it just lacked consistency and didn’t work together. In particular with such a small Menu it also makes choosing a wine to compliment the flavours very difficult.
Overall it’s a lovely location but incredibly disappointing with the menu and not worth the...
