Ok. I don’t give 5’s often. But this was exceptional. We were here off season so I was a bit concerned that restaurants would skip a beat. But this one was exceptional. I had the Feldschlosschen Dunkle beer it was great. It was fresh and clean tasting. The nitrogen was not spared. The beer had a deep rich taste that reminded me of a milk stout. We ate the steak tartar. It was served with toast and capers and red onions. It was amazing!! There was a slight spiciness and citrusy flavor that matched so well. The best was the veal with linguine and squash ragout. The flavors of the veal and the mushroom sauce provided two options for the pasta. The pasta was cooked to perfection the way an Italian would prepare it al dente and salted ever so delicately. We asked for the veal rare and we got rare. It was wonderfully seasoned and so very tender. Almost zero fat and no gristle. It was completely edible without waste and a very generous portion. We finished off the meal with Toblerone mousse. If you don’t eat anything else come here for dessert it was fantastic and very generous. The chocolate was dark and creamy with house made whipped cream. The reviews here seemed good. A steakhouse! We walk in and the place is a little dead. We ordered 2 burgers and 2 steaks, and what comes out are processed frozen patties, slightly charred on the outside. Your burgers will come out with salad dressing all over the bottom of the bun. The fries will be akin to McDonalds fries. The burger shocked me coming from a “steakhouse” as I had a better one out of a food truck 2 days ago. The steaks were nice though, so there is that. The service is also good (very nice lady) but once you get your food it will be nearly impossible to get anything else for the table or to get the bill. Our server, Tanya, was so friendly and made the dining experience exceptional. On top of the amazing atmosphere the food was absolutely delicious. I had the soup of the day and it was the best soup I’ve had in a while and I had about five or six soups just this week. 10/10 recommend. Best dinner overall I’ve had in a while. Everyone enjoyed their main course, our appetizers and even the butter and bread was discussed highly amongst the table.
