Dosa House Viktoria — Restaurant in Lucerne

While roaming around Luzern, we started feeling a bit hungry and were in the mood for something light. A few of us were really craving Masala Dosa, so we did a quick Google search and found a place called Dosa House.

We got there around 6:30 PM, just looking for some evening snacks—not a full dinner. The restaurant looked nice—spacious, well-decorated, and it definitely had an Indian vibe. We took a look at the menu and decided to try a few things. Here’s what we ordered along with our personal ratings : • Masala Dosa – 4/5 • Mysore Masala Dosa – 3/5 • Medu Vada – 3/5 • Onion Uthappam – 2/5

The Masala Dosa was good. The rest were okay, nothing special.

Now, while the food and the place were decent, the experience was a bit soured by the attitude of the staff. Since we were a group of 10, they insisted we order at least 7-8 main course dishes, even though we just wanted something light. One of the staff members even made a sarcastic remark asking if we were on a diet, which felt rude and uncalled for.

On the plus side, they did offer water without any extra charge, which we appreciated.

All in all, apart from the Masala Dosa and the ambiance, it wasn’t the best experience. Honestly, with the way we were treated, we’re not sure...

We had a very bad experience in this hotel during our yesterday visit for a dinner. We have ordered remi martin liquor and other main courses along with that after looking at their menu card they have provided. After finished our food when we asked for a bill we are surprised to see a different price has been charged for remi martin liquor (menu card it was listed as 6CHF but in the bill it was mentioned as 10CHF) After witnessing this we have asked them why they have been charging different price than what was shown in the menu card, but they said that it was a printing mistake in one or two of the cards whereas in other cards the price was already updated. Is there any mistake from our side? We ordered what we saw in the menu card based on the price. Also the portion of item for chicken curry we ordered was very less not even sufficient for 2 idly out of 4 idly per plate but price is huge. Since it was their mistake they should allow us to pay for the lesser price as mentioned in the menu card or atleast some compensation they should have done it but eventually they did no favor and nothing. Very worst behavior this is.. please be loyal to...

The experience was very bad.

All through the dinner, the attitude of staff was that by providing us food they are doing us a favour.

When we entered there no proper place to seat the batch. If we even tried to stand, the chair would hit the chair in back. Such was the mismanagement that those who entered first got food last and those who entered last got food first.

The food itself was what we call a "Cheap Mess" in india and we paid premium for it!!! The chutney was very watery and only one chutney was there. The vegetable was semi-raw.

Entire experience was designed for convenience of owner and not customer comfort.

I love South Indian food and even ate at other South Indian eateries in Europe, so the bad experience is specific to this restaurant only.

We went for buffet so experience is limited to available food...
