Charly's Gstaad AG — Restaurant in Saanen

I recently visited Charlie’s Gstaad and was left deeply disappointed by the service I encountered. During my visit, I witnessed appalling behavior from one of the local staff members, which was completely at odds with the establishment's reputation as a luxury resort.

Instead of providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere, she treated guests with blatant disrespect. I observed her yelling at customers waiting in line, pushing them out the door, and closing it to prevent anyone from entering or leaving. This kind of behavior felt more suited to a jail than a high-end coffee and patisserie establishment.

The majority of the staff seemed to be foreign workers, and while they may have been doing their best, it was disheartening to see such a lack of professionalism from a local employee. I had hoped for a pleasant experience, but instead, I left feeling unwelcome and frustrated.

Well the food is very poor, i was given a club sandwich which is asked to be veg removing the chicken and bacon and i told them to add avocado- the avocado in the sandwich was black- now idk whose mistake was it that i asked something out of the menu to put inside and it didnt turn out right edible, but the server did cancel it. The hot chocolate well it isnt like Angelina, Laduree, Carette in Paris, but this one is frothy and is little bit milky.

The one star for the service was that there was only server and she was running around to take the order, print the bill, serve the food and beverages, maybe i think its start of the day. Is 10.00 AM start of the day ?

I would include more Vegetarian items or Vegan if thats...

We happened to visit Charley's Gstaad in first week of Nov in 2019. We had booked our hotel in Gstaad, as the town has an Indian restaurant, and the hotel was just next to it. But as it was off season, the restaurant was closed, and so were most others. When we were frantically searching for a place where we can have lunch, an American tourist recommended this place.

And we are glad he did! Very hospitable and courteous staff and great food!

Thai Red Curry, Risoto, Fish & Chips and French Fries were all very tasty and very nicely served.

Our table also had a view of the Ice Skating Ring and our visit experience with Ice Skating.
