Balthazar St. Moritz — Restaurant in Sankt Moritz

Summary: if you're looking for a great fine dining experience, skip this place. It advertised itself as such, but doesn't deliver at any level. For a place with a wine bottle costing CHF 9800, the management needs to have a hard look of what they are really offering.

Context: we came at a lunch time. It was practically empty, one our group of five plus another group of 3 people. At the same time, they seemed to have around 4 staffers in the front.

Service: very bad, for the expectations they have set and advertised themselves. Even the coat service was bad; I almost lost my valuables which I accidentally left on my coat, and the person hanging the coat dropped the stuffs (not sure how) without even noticing.

Food: only so-so. What's worse was the food service.

1. They had a good menu, but after 30min of ordering, told us that literally a quarter of what we ordered were not available. The waiter didn't have the courtesy to even bring the menu back, and only did so after being asked. There was no recommendations offered too.
2. after all the trouble they gave, they put us to wait for 45mins. They didn't have a proper bread basket or something similar, for a restaurant at this price point.
3. they served our food wrongly, for half of what we ordered and delivered. They promised to made up for the two dishes, but didn't deliver until we left. For one dish, I had to send back, because it was messed up so much.

Prices: while I don't blame the restaurant to charge like what they do, but given the bad quality, slow service, and so-so food; this place meets my criteria for...

What a disaster this place. First, we wanted to confirm our dinner reservation for the next evening that we booked a month ago. There was no reservation so the only thing available was a spot at 9.30 pm, quite late. The next day during dinner many dishes were not available so we had to order things we did not really want because the menu is very limited. This place is basically a bar with some pasta and pizza. Considering that the prices are not the cheapest we were quite confused when we received main dishes that were the size of starters. The food was also not tasty. In addition, they got our order wrong. When we complained about size and order , the waiters started arguing with us. The last one tried to make an effort and brought us deserts as a sorry. But when the bill came, the wrong order was still on it and the desert as well. We asked for the manager to contest these but he was just angry and...

Tasteless cocktails, average food, and music. Friendly service and excellent design.

Cocktails - waiting time 20 min. With half empty restaurant. Based on Moët (why if Dom Perignon bottles surrounded us). Cocktails gave me a headache the next day instead of the taste.

Salmon with kale - I would cook the same at home. Kale was extremely overcooked; the salmon didn’t look like a salmons cooked at low temperatures.

Music - a lady was sitting in front of the pianist for most of the songs without singing. Several songs sounded like a hobby style singer. No ambience with such a music, most people...
