HANS IM GLÜCK - ST. GALLEN Kugelgasse — Restaurant in St. Gallen

Unfortunately i can not say a lot of nice things about our experiences here. We normally liked Hans im Glück in other cities but here we had two negative experiences. During our visit in the restaurant we received one of our vegan burgers with Feta. When we told the waiter he blamed the kitchen instead of just taking it back. We asked if the burger will get tossed and that we wanna keep it instead of it being tossed away. He assured us that he will take it back to the kitchen and remove the Feta without tossing it away. He then returned with a new burger which now had onions in it despite the fact that we explicitly asked for it without onions. After everything was sorted out they did not really excuse themselves for the mishap and also didn't offer us anything in return. Then a couple of days later we ordered online and we received completely cold fries despite the fact that the courier only took about 5 minutes to get...

Places like this are difficult to rate. A 5 star review feels overrated, 4 feels almost a bit stingy and might indicate that something was not right. Which is not true: service was friendly even during busy lunch hours, the grub was decent, there are plenty of free condiments (labelled "Sosse", very German :-). You can chose between vegan, vegetarian, chicken and beef burgers, so there's something for everyone. I guess what prevents this from being a five-star experience is pricing: at more than CHF70 for three meals, it's clearly not a bargain. Go here, sit outside weather permitting, and feel a little bit like the HANS...

Wonderful staff! I was speaking english and the staff brought and offered an english version of menu. I asked few questions regarding the food, they were happy to explain and gave some advice. Food was great, they have variety of burgers and not only, fries are good, and free sauces like BBQ, ketchup, some sauce with orange and etc. Slightly expensive, I would say be ready for 20-25 CHF per person. The service was great and staff were kindly asking if everything is fine. The only thing, I was a bit confused about the bathroom, because the sign was in german with no pictures of man or woman.
