St. Laurenzen — Attraction in St. Gallen

A very interesting church. The walls are painted in a very original way, and the pointed arches give the impression of an oriental fairy-tale palace. Concerts are held here. The only pity is that this is not the original appearance of the church. But still, I'm very glad...

Schöne reformierte Kirche. Tolle Aussicht vom der Turm Plattform, wenn diese geöffnet ist. Der Turm ist zudem 5m höher als die benachbarten zwei Kathedraltürme. In einer Führung lässt sich auch einiges zur Städtischen Rivalität zwischen katholische Kloster und reformierter Stadt erfahren. Daraus ist auch das Karls-Stadttoor entstanden. Früher war der Turm der Laurenzen Kirche noch in Holz und die Aussichtsplattform da ca. 6m höher angebracht. Von aussen ist auch das schön farbig eingedeckt Dach dieser Kirche erwähnenswert. Besonders viele Leute passen jedoch nicht in diese Kirche. Etwa gleich viel wie die nahe ref. Linsenbühl Kirche fasst, oder auch weniger. Die Zufahrt zur St. Laurenzen ist zudem wegen der hier umliegenden Fussgängerzone...

The church is painted and the interior has no signs of being a religious building. If you want to climb the stairs to go to the rooftop…. Be aware they only take Francs or euro. So I was turned away as they do not take...
