200 tons, saving that amount of plastic. That comes down to ca. 3,4 kg of plastic saving per day for everyone of the over 100 McDonalds outlets in Switzerland. I wonder how much plastic saving that would be for every customer served in a year?
It appears that McDonalds is actively keeping its plastic)wastereduction target low. It further appears that the plastic seen by customers and the plastic used in their systemgastronomy kitchens is not transparently communicated. Does McDonalds actually know how much waste/plasticwaste is created BoH (back of house) per customer served? (E.g cut onions packed in plasticbags, sauces in tetrapackcups for squeezeguns aso.)
Not much to say about their foodproducts - its mc donalds and one reason for their success is their consistency. They are doing that very well, for decades.
One would wish for the same quality in the new, sustainability aspects.

Read more5 hours before closing time they serve everything to take-away (no table service). There is just a guy in the kitchen constantly yelling the order number at the top of his lungs and you have to pick it up and then go to a table even if you selected to eat at the restaurant. So the guests are just sitting everywhere and using their take-away bags as plates. Also a lot of drinks were prepared in advance so the ice in mine had already melted. Die Self-Service Automaten waren zu 90% defekt, wodurch extrem lange Wartezeiten resultierten. Aus diesem Grund wollten wir uns nach unserem enorm langen und anstrengenden Anmarsch setzen. Auch dies wurde von eine unfreundlichen Mitarbeiter undiskret verhindert. Als wir nun endlich unsere Nuggets erhielten, stellten wir mit Schrecken fest, dass statt den 6 bezahlten frittierten Chiggiies nur 5 vorhanden waren. Zu unserem Bedauern zeigten die Mitarbeiter erneut wenig Verständnis für das Begleichen unseres Kaufvertrages. Wir sind der Meinung Opfer einer gezielten Diskriminierung gegenüber Zürcher geworden zu sein. Denn wir (Arbeitslose und Studenten) sind zutiefst enttäuscht über die Missachtung unseres hart verdienten Geldes.
