Hands down the best coffee shop I’ve ever been to — and that’s not something I say lightly. Rösterei Heer is the kind of place that clearly takes pride in every single aspect of the coffee experience, from bean to brew.
Customer service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. The staff spoke great English, which made ordering and asking questions really easy. They were genuinely helpful and clearly knew their coffee inside and out — happy to talk through the different beans and recommend options based on our tastes.
I ordered the Ethiopian flat white, and it was nothing short of exceptional — smooth, full of flavour, and you could taste the freshness of the beans in every sip. Rich and clean without any bitterness. My wife went for a schale made with beans from Honduras — her first time trying one — and it ended up being absolutely perfect for her palate. Delicate, creamy, and well balanced. We were both genuinely impressed.
The coffee menu here is something special — a curated selection of high-end speciality beans from around the world, roasted in-house with care. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill café — it’s a haven for people who appreciate top-tier coffee.
The atmosphere was just as impressive. The interior has a clean, warm, modern feel without being too try-hard. It wasn’t noisy or chaotic — just a relaxed, welcoming space that lets the coffee shine. Great for sitting down and actually enjoying your drink, whether you’re with someone or flying solo.
If I’m ever anywhere near Thun again, I’ll 100% be stopping back in — no hesitation. If you haven’t been yet and you appreciate good coffee, go. Now. You...
Read moreWe visited this beautiful café as a vegetarian family, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our Switzerland trip. From the moment we walked in, we were charmed by its cozy, rustic vibe — warm interiors, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the friendly smiles that instantly made us feel at home.
We ordered a cappuccino, an apple crumble pie, and a panini sandwich — and each of them was simply delightful! The cappuccino was rich and perfectly balanced, with that comforting Swiss touch. The apple crumble pie was heavenly — warm, buttery, with just the right amount of sweetness. The panini sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and prepared thoughtfully to suit our vegetarian preference.
What made the visit even more special was the personal touch — the lovely server who took time to share the story behind their old coffee grinder machine. It added such a beautiful nostalgic charm, making us feel like we were part of something authentically Swiss.
It’s rare to find a place that combines great food, heartfelt hospitality, and true local character so seamlessly. We left with full hearts (and stomachs!) — would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommended to anyone visiting...
