Brasserie Löwen — Restaurant in Zug

Lovely setting by the lake. Nice hotel with great friendly service. I haven’t stayed but my boss did and she gave me great feedback and I was with her at the reception a couple of times and can feel the qualitative standards. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the brasserie service on the terrace. We arrive with my boss and the waitress points out that we are late. We knew it and we had informed the restaurant and the reservation was kindly kept in place. We ask for a better table closer to the lake. The table had still to be clean of the previous guests meal. The waitress warn us that is going to be raining and strongly advise for another table which is ready. I checked the weather forecast and no signs of rain except for one hour forecasted for 18 hours later. So we bravely take the risk to dine in the dangerous area. I call the waiter and I ask what wine by the glass they have, he answers me visibly irritated that the wines are listed in a paper in a metal holder which I haven’t seen and he left. I regretted to have tried engaging with the waiter and obviously refrained from asking advice on wines. Without going into too many details the waiter made the dinner for me and my boss utterly unpleasant acting with a lot of prejudices towards our comments or requests. Maybe the waiter had a bad day as we are all humans but I find it very unprofessional to throw your bitterness at who is coming to a restaurant to relax while still talking business after a long day. I was with my partner and we went to the restaurant to eat, when we entered a very friendly waitress told us to ask the other waitress to sit at the table. The other waitress aggressively told us: Can you see there is no place? leave the place!!, we were amazed, when we left, the waitress at the beginning asked us why we didn't sit down and we told her that her partner had kicked us out because there was no table, to which she helped two other people to sit down, I told her that I had never received such disrespectful treatment in my life, the kind waitress told us to tell the boss and I was very sorry, but we didn't want to waste our time there anymore. I am a regular guest at this Brasserie and the reason is simple: the food is great, the service is impeccable and the location is central. In the summer I suggest eating outside, where you can have a beautiful view of the lake. On the menu I particularly like their soups, which vary frequently according to the seasonal ingredients. One of my favorite dishes here is their caesar salad with chicken breast, that is simply perfect, thanks to the high quality ingredients. Also their local dishes like the “Zurcher Geschnetzeltes” or the seafood from the lake are worth trying if you want to try nice swiss cuisine.
