Antica Roma — Restaurant in Zurich

I have been to Antica Roma on multiple occasions with colleagues for lunch but never really took the time to review it.

Normally, I tend to give more positive reviews (4 or 5 stars) but there are two significant shortcomings here that I cannot ignore. Firstly, there are no vegan options. It's 2021 and veganism has been growing exponentially for years, it's just unacceptable for a restaurant not to have one single vegan option. Secondly, many waiters do not speak English. It's rare to find a restaurant in Zurich where staff don't speak English so I found it really disappointing that a restaurant located in the centre of a major business district had at least half of the waiters who did not speak a word of English.

Besides that, pizzas are good and the salad that they usually bring as a starter (included in the price) is really nice.

I will probably go back to Antica Roma at some point in the future as it is just across the road from my office but it's certainly not one of my favourite choices and would definitely NOT...

Today we ordered delivery from the restaurant, and definitely will never do that mistake again. "Piatto d'Insalata Grande" had rotten leaves. Also salad portion just normal, not big. "Scaloppine di Vitello ai Funghi Porcini" -- it was tough to chew meat. "Salzkaroffeln" was sweet -- potatoes were stored at wrong temperature. "Bruschetta all‘Italiana" -- was soggy, cold, and dough were under-cooked. "Lasagne al Forno" -- was under-heated inside, it doesn't look like fresh, was it frozen?!! Very much...

Had a really top quality meal here. Ordered the sole with a side of mediterranean vegetables - it was really beautifully cooked and fell off the bone.

Our waiter brought us a delicious free bruschetta on the house. This whole fish was CHF39 and easily fed two people, which makes it a bargain in Zurich! Our waiter was very professional and attentive....
