My husband and I recently stayed here for 3 nights. Here are the pros and cons:||PROS|1. Cleanliness: The hotel and our room were immaculately clean.|2. Proximity to Lake Zurich: It was 2 blocks or so to the Lake where there was a lovely Promenade, benches, scenic views of the Lake, etc.|3. Toiletries: Le Labo Bergamot which was lovely.||CONS|1. Irritating Check-In Experience: We arrived mid-afternoon and our room wasn’t ready so we were told to wait. Interestingly, a number of guests from the Middle East arrived at the same time and elbowed their way to the Front Desk. They were given rooms immediately. More kept arriving who were promptly taken care of by the Park Hyatt staff. Instead we were told to sit in the lounge and wait. There was no offer of water or anything else while waiting for our elusive room. The Front Desk staff told us that the maids kept wanting to “fix one more thing”. We finally were given room 405 looking onto an unkempt, unattractive courtyard roof. |2. Frustrating Check-Out Experience: Our minibar was full so upon arrival, we asked that it be emptied so we could put a bottle of wine in. A member of the Hyatt staff came and took everything out. Upon check-out, we were informed that we had “taken a lot of things from the Mini Bar” which was untrue and they wanted to charge us. After much discussion, they conceded that a Park Hyatt staff member rather than us had indeed removed everything from the Minbar. It is disappointing that the Park Hyatt does not keep records of what their staff does. |3. Extreme Smoking: In front of the hotel is a terrace where certain types of men congregate to chain smoke, loudly chatter and show off a parade of super expensive luxury autos. Incredibly tacky.|4. Lack of Hot Water: On evening during our stay (~ 6:30 pm), my husband had no hot water for his shower. |5. Room Design/Gadgetry: Our room was high tech with lots of bewildering gadgets. It was a challenge to simply turn off the room lights at night. The tiny closet could only accommodate one suitcase so my husband ended up having to keep his clothes on the floor.|6. Poor Bathroom Design: Our bathroom was a combo bathroom and shower room where there was no separation of the shower from the tub and towel rack. Consequently, showering entailed soaking our towels. Also, there was no ventilation vent in the bathroom.|7. Atmosphere: The Park Hyatt Zurich had a stark, soul-less feel which felt designed to impress a certain "target audience". One evening, the entire restaurant and “Onyx Bar” were entirely closed for a private party where said audience was in full attendance.| |We would...

Stayed in June, globalist - called when we landed to see if we could switch twin to king bed, gave assurances over the phone that this could be accommodated but only at checkin. When we got there, told that we could not - that they were completely sold out and no other room available that night. Check-in agent said when we left he would have the room rearranged (ie beds put together, new mattress) so that it would be almost exactly like a king room. I get to room, twin beds are tiny, and crib requested too high for our toddler. At this point, I check the app and see that multiple king rooms are available. I go back to check in and request a room change as well as a new crib with lower mattress for our toddler. This time the (what appeared to be) more senior agent said there was no point changing the room, that he would ensure the beds rearranged so that it would be exactly as a king. We leave for the day and let the team know so that they can rearrange the room 6 hours later we return - room is exactly the way we left it - nothing rearranged, baby can’t be put down as the crib way too high so now we have a screaming tired toddler Go to front desk - this time Eduardo (someone who clearly has more customer service sense) profusely apologizes and immediately changes our room to a larger room with a crib, and calls to ensure a crib change. Adrian kindly comes quickly to move us out of our room, and Bimi delivers our lower-mattress crib within the hour - these guys saved the stay. I spoke with management (Claudiele) the next day, who also apologized and was kind enough to comp our ride to the train station
Overall, expected at least minimal accommodation (esp as a Globalist) at initial checkin, even the exact room with just different bed which was clearly available, and was sorely disappointed with the service received. This was made worse by the failed promises of rearranging the room and delivering an adjusted crib. Thankfully the evening crew (Eduardo, Adrian, Bimi) saved the day, but this definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. They could use some lessons from the...
Read moreHave stayed many times at this property over the years. By a wide margin, this was the worst stay. |- PH Zurich was particularly disappointing this time - quite disorganised and unreliable, which was surprising given usual Swiss standards and excellence. |- Simple requests were repeatedly missed or forgotten altogether. |- Many aspects of the room were not up to standard. The shower leaked into the bathroom, the rooms were loud (sounds easily heard from hallway or outside), the closet light could never turn off, the air conditioner barely worked. It was consistently too hot in the room. |- Staff often did not follow up on basic requests such as ice or luggage. |- Service was unusually poor and uncoordinated in genera; it seems the departments do not coordinate or communicate well together. |- 2 members of front desk staff promised to update regarding a room change; hours later, had never heard back from them. They disappeared. |- Service was largely impersonal and unfriendly, with a few key exceptions:|- Duty manager Marta at least tried to make an effort and to remedy some of the issues. She was professional and proactive. |- Breakfast staff went out of the way to be helpful. Lukas and Natalia, in particular, were excellent. Both were incredibly professional, went out of the way to help, were outstanding examples of service. |- The new members of the bellboy team seemed quite untrained and miserable and lost. The bellboy team that has been there for years were still helpful and attentive |- Overall, not a good stay and service certainly was not at the luxury or 5-star level. Room was uncomfortable and service was often...
