Coming from the New York (one of the most expensive cities in the world, before someone answers Switzerland is expensive) I have to say this place is not only expensive for what it offers, but also dirty and not properly attended.
I arrived thrilled about the reviews and trying Swiss spetzel.
We order the spetzel with the chicken and TAP water. The man asked if we wanted mushroom sauce with it and we said yes but he never mention it costed over 10 francs for less than a cup of sauce!!. Then the food arrive, the chicken portion was fine but the spetzel where cold and kind of re-heated. Not fresh. We wanted to share the dish (they charge 5 francs for sharing.. I’ve never in the world seen this before) and the 2nd dish empty for splitting was COMPLETELY DIRTY. I asked for another one and it was also dirty. The water came in a glass bottle of milk, as tap water in most cities in the world.
At the moment of the check, we realized how expensive this creepy dinner was. They charged me the tap water TEN FRANCS!!! And argued saying is was mineral water.. we had the glass bottle still there but still charged us for that.
The bill it self does not exist, is just a piece of paper lacking any information.
To coronate the night, I had a terrible night with stomach ache, probably due to the old oil used for re-heating the spetzel.
Won’t recommend and I wish I never came to this place. Money, time and holiday mood wasted...
Read moreI am not exaggerating when I say this one was one of the best meals I have ever had. We were in Europe for 2 weeks. We started and ended in Zurich. It was so good the first time we had to come back to end our trip. The waitress was amazing and made us feel so welcome. helped us find the English menu and recommended an awesome local beer. The Cordon Blue is crazy. damn near had an out of body experience. If you are in Zurich and looking for a fun local dinner spot there is literally no other restaurant I could recommend higher. Make a reservation if you want to guarantee a seat as it is a...
Read moreI usually don't frequent the same place when I'm traveling, but from someone who doesn't enjoy soups as much, the pumpkin soup won me over on my first visit. Wow! It was so comforting after my long-haul flight that I was in awe the whole time :D The Wienershnitzel was really thin and light offering a sumptuous meal. The second time I had the cordon bleu and spaetzle, which was equally delicious, I'm actually impressed with the overall prep. It was my first time trying an Austrian dessert - palatschinken and loved it! I recommend this place to anyone longing to taste the best of...
