We had high expectations for this restaurant based on a recommendation, but unfortunately, our experience was highly disappointing. We arrived at 6:30 PM and were only served at 8:15 PM. It seemed like our table was forgotten, as we noticed that the table next to us—who arrived after us—was served all their dishes, even receiving additional orders, while we were still waiting for our first dish. This was surprising and frustrating. When we inquired about the delay, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the situation.

The ambiance was another drawback; the restaurant was extremely noisy, making it difficult to enjoy the evening. On top of that, we found the pricing a bit high: 6 CHF (7 dollars) for tap water, finally the dessert was equally disappointing —12 CHF for a cheesecake with the smallest possible scoop of ice cream we had seen and a slice of cake so thin it was more of a line than a piece.

Overall, the lack of service, noisy atmosphere, and overpriced items left us deeply disappointed. This was not the experience we hoped for, and we...

Absolute gem of a place! Not a hidden one though - being fully booked on an early weeknight. Reservation recommended, to avoid disappointment, though the seating is generous, and summertime terrace will offer even more more. The staff is super friendly and fun even with a full house to attend to. And the food....the food is soul-healing. My chosen medicine: the chawanmushi, perfect savory gooey yumminess to cry over in happiness, plus eel rolls which are the best sushi for winter nights (prove me wrong) plus one of their mini poke bowls (mini being a metaphor, that was a decent portion in its own) - the mix tuna, salmon, kingfish sashimi, because I have trouble making firm choices. Also helped myself with BFs braised pork belly, which I even forgot to take a picture of, I just went into a trance. Yes, I could barely move after the fact, but I am strong and independent so I also had dessert. Reader, they have mochi ice cream. Oh, and ume spritzers and other umeshu based potions. You will leave happy and surely return. If you don't, more...

Ekstraordinary. Best sushi i had in europe so far.

You can find sushi and japanese dining in all kinds of different settings and price classes. Here you'll will get a izakaya style dining experience where it's meant to order a bunch of different dishes to share which are served running during your evening.

Some places you pay for a good location or a hype, but here you get incredibly well made sushi and balanced dishes thats rare to find within this price range.

Even the smaller futomaki rolls thats usually just a filler to your dish, tastes delicious, because if its well made its more than just a filler. This standard is represented throughout the dishes.

Not to sound too cheesy, but... You can taste the passion thats been put in making the food and designing the menu.

Also Great service, friendly staff, good atmosphere and small but good...

The service was outright DEPLORABLE for a Wed evening! It was absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get our order in since no one wanted to come over to our table to take it. I tried FLAGGING DOWN a sever many times but it seemed like they just didn’t want to bother at all! The food was absolutely below average compared to the other mediocre Japanese establishments I’ve been to. The starter was bland. The dragon roll wasn’t anything special. The matcha dessert was alright. The drink itself wasn’t tasty. We just couldn’t get past the horrible service and just wanted to GET OUT. It’s sad because my husband recommended this place but he was APPALLED with my feedback and review. We will never be coming back nor shall we be recommending this place.

First we ordered a tempura shrimp as a starter and it tasted very nice with a crispy outer shell. Then the main dishes were ramen and a weekly special bento box with fish. The bento box and ramen included either a free salad or miso soup, we got one of each. The ramen had a big portion of pork with seaweed, half an egg and bean sprouts. Very tasty and quite similar to authentic Japanese ramen. The bento box was divided into 4 parts: salad, sushi, sashimi and fish. Each of them were good, but not extraordinary. Overall definitely an amazing lunch/dinner spot, the staff is quite friendly and the food is tasty. The price is average for Zurich as well.
