House of Ren — Restaurant in Zurich

After my disappointment of eating in the restaurant I decided to give them a second chance ordering from there. Neither will be repeated.

Dining in: we ordered the lunch special and identical soups. The soups arrived 15 minutes apart with no explanation. Main dishes took 50 minutes to arrive. Quality was alright. I raised both to the waitstaff. No accommodations were made.

Ordering: food arrived quickly. Whilst the flavours were there, texture and presentation were highly subpar: Dan Dan noodles came overcooked and plain with sauce (spilled all over the place) came next to it. Barely contained any meat. Likewise, the kung pao chicken should have been called Kung pao vegetables as it also barely contained any meat. Crispy beef was extremely dry with not much to make up for this. Called the restaurant. Received some sort of explanation.

All in all, whilst the flavours may be alright, terrible service and stingy portion sizes as well as stingy meat do not...

Not a place to go over lunch! It took them 50 minutes to serve food. Only one meal came, the rest 4 people had to wait for another 10 minutes. Btw we ordered from the daily menu. Severak timnes we asked and they were like 5 minutes.

Also order came wrongly they brought us drinks which we didn‘t order! They brought the wrong meal.

The foot came after one hour and they managed it to bring the wrong menu…. 2 times duck instead of beef… By that time I was Hangry told them to cancel my order as I was on a rush to catch a train!

Then he brought me the check, they literally charged me for the water… I told him that it doesn‘t look like they are sorry at all, his answer was we brought you duck is more expensive then beef…..

Don‘t go there, go tu Fujia of Japan or Ruen Thai...

Located right across the FIFA museum in Zurich, the House of Ren is a must visit. We stopped here for lunch after our museum visit and we are so glad we did.

Love the decor and aesthetics of this place. It's a really pretty restaurant. We were promptly seated upon arrival. The menu had a nice selection of dishes to choose from. We loved everything we order. I would totally go back there again and try other things on their menu. We had chicken satay, shrimp toast , Szechwan soup, fried rice, a tofu dish, and Dan Dan Mian. Each dish was a 10/10. The portion sizes were good and the service was quick.

Highly recommend visiting this restaurant for delicious Asian food at...
