Long Huang — Restaurant in Zurich

I am quite disappointed about the service. The food was ok, it’s little better than the normal Suan Long but price is higher. I ordered a pot of ginger tea. She got this in the machine. Then I immediately said oh can I change that? She said, no cause it’s already there. Ok strange but I can take it.

We ordered a bottle of wine for CHF 39. It wasn’t that nice at the end but we still finished it. When we asked for the bill, I found that the bill for the bottle of wine was CHF 42. I asked the waitress and she said yes the system price is that. Then I asked for the menu to check again, she said menu was CHF 39. Ok then why don’t you tell me when I make the order to see if I am okay with that? She said I can charge you CHF 3 less. Well, i think you have to cause this is not the right service from a proper restaurant. So she could have told me but she didn’t until I found out from the bill. It’s not about paying CHF 3 more. It is cheating if you don’t have the right price on the menu especially you knew that i ordered the wine. I feel like I am in China in this restaurant. EXTREMELY RUDE BEHAVIOUR by the owner.

I don’t usually write reviews, but what happened today at around at Long Huang in Zurich was BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE. I would recommend this restaurant to NO ONE and would give 0 stars if I could. Absolutely disgraceful. A BIG NO.

The food arrived over 30 minutes late, which I was still willing to overlook, but what followed was shocking. Despite clearly ordering vegetarian dishes, we were served non-vegetarian food (chicken). This wasn’t a mistake. The owner simply brought whatever she had.

When we requested a replacement, reminding her we had ordered vegetarian, she exploded, yelling at us at the top of her lungs and screaming, “GET OUT OF THE RESTAURANT if you don’t want this!!!”

I have NEVER experienced such hostile and degrading customer service in my life. The owner’s behaviour was not only aggressive but downright disrespectful.

The food here is good and the room is pleasant to eat in. Unfortunately service is poor during peak hours. It was a REALLY long wait to give our order after being seated. It seemed we were being willfully ignored by overstressed service personnel. We would have been less frustrated if someone came and apologized for the wait and told us they would be back to take our order. Ignoring clients is in my opinion a no-go (many of us have experienced it). Plus it was super annoying to watch repeatedly while tables were cleared and reset. It would be much more appropriate to take our order and get it to the kitchen and then clean up after others who had already left. There are many local choices for Asian food these days.
