I went there last night for dinner and ordered the 4 course menu. The atmosphere was comfortable and casual and provided a sense of clam and happiness. The service was first class, there is always someone filling our water and asking us how we feel about the food. For starter, their bread was fresh and came with a whip butter, it was pretty standard but I always appreciates restaurant that bake their own warm bread for service. The amuse bouche was a crab with avocado and fruit, it was the best dish of the night for me, I got all 5 tastes out of that one bite, it was amazing and I wish they made that into a full appetizer. The first course was the duck liver with wild berries. While I like the duck liver, I wish there was more berries so I can have some acidity to each bite. The coffee crumbs was a nice accent. My second was a codfish seafood rissoto. The fish was nicely cooked but the cream was a bit on the heavy side and the rice was undercooked and a bit runny than the normal rissoto texture I would expect. My entree was the lamb with ravioli and vegitables. The meat was nicely cooked and seasoned very well. The ravioli was also cooked perfectly but the pan sauce itself was on the salty side and my ravioli absorbed too much of it which made me reach for the water a few times. I finished the meal with cognac and cheeses. Their variety of cheeses are wonderful and it went well with drink. The entire experience was good with a few flaws but I really enjoyed the...
Read moreCame here for dinner at night with my partner on our holiday to Switzerland. We had the three course, one entrement one main and one dessert. A highlight for us was the complimentary appetizers courtesy of the kitchen was really good and a great way to start the pace. Entrements, red mullet and swiss pork was tasty with the red mullet the best with the crispy elements it had. For mains, the duck had a good crispy skin with succulent meat. My halibut was okay but felt the sauce was little too salty for my liking. The main thing that stand out for us was actually the service which was impeccable. Staff were very attentive to detail and cared to watch out when we needed wine top and next course out at the right time. This made it a great night when...
Read moreUnfortunately this is no longer the MESA of prior (which many/ most reviews still rave about - I would have too of the former restaurant, which was amazing). This new takeover unfortunately is not at par with previous level. Turned into a Spanish upper scale (price wise) restaurant, the food was good but nothing special to be remembered. Staff was friendly. For a Spanish upperscale restaurant, I was expecting to have interesting wines by the glass - the latter were a bit too common. Desserts were super though, but at that moment we unfortunately had strong fish smell all over the restaurant. Also to be honest, I would suggest current ownership to delete ranking / reviews from previous owners and start from time...
